A friend is launching his new narrative survival game.
Check it out!

Is the restaurant a real place? Where in Italy?
In my hometown, there is something similar.
Oh no! It's chased by the infamous Square-fighters!
Was the "Old" one made with AI?
Don't starve vibes! Keep working 👍
Do you mean the "trainers" and the Pokémons are NOT friends?!?!? 😱
if you haven't find it yet, try dark synthwave. Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, Dance with the dead, etc.
Since the dawn of Flash games, finding instances by name has been the gate of hell for game devs ☺️
ouch, that hurts!
A gross estimation would be 51% from the 100k made on Steam.
If you go full solo, it's just taxes. Here in the UK is:
20% < £37k per year
40% between 37k and 125k
45% over 125k
If you earn a gross £100k on Steam, it should be
gross £70k for you on which you'd pay
£7.4k + £13.2 = £20.6k taxes
so a neat £49.4k in your pocket.
Ahhh! Now it makes sense ☺️
It really depends on the Country where you pay taxes. I don't have experience with Steam but I do with Apple and Google.
Usually is 30% cut from the store, then refunds (more a Steam problem than others) then it's up to the team and the publisher.
Damn! From 31k to 7k?!? Are you a solo-dev or are you splitting with others?
What engine is it? I would say Unity, but it is unusually clean. UE?
Every day brings new analyses of the AI bubble: the overinvestment in data centers, the lack of profits, the unreliability of LLMs, the impact on energy and the environment… Yet nothing and nobody can hit the brakes.
The financial market is a runaway train and we are all passengers.
See the shape of the objects in the picture? They are not all rectangles, they are like Tetris pieces.
That way you add complexity to your setup.
Nice FF7 vibes!
Hi! Human being here, and fellow developer, listening to the void ☺️
I haven't play your game but since it's an inventory management game, wouldn't be a bit more "spicy" if you go over rectangular shapes?
Look what Dredge did as an example.
Those boxes are well glued together!
Now attach a physical particle to each voxel and activate it from top to bottom in layers and watch your face melt 😱
The CEO might have the controlling share of the company but, without revenues, they can be manipulated by pulling the plug on investments. I have seen a few CEOs do the bidding of investors because strapped for cash.
Not quite right, most private companies have private investors and sometime is even worse because you are not forced by law to disclose informations, so all the health of the company is kept behind closed door.
I don't believe that every CEO is evil, especially in smaller companies. However, I saw with my own eyes how pitches are designed to attract money from people who don't care about games, and how they do it?
By inflating the returns. When that inevitably doesn't happen, investors pull the plug.
We, the developers, should stop selling studios to these people. Stay private and don't grow too fast, so you don't have to ask for funding. Build on top of what you earn from your games alone.
The legal landscape for game accessibility has changed. GPSR requires safety, EAA requires accessible comms & ecommerce. The deadlines are upon us, but many devs remain unaware. If you don't know about these laws yet, you need to! Info:
