learning things trains you to learn things, solving problems trains you to solve problems. those aren't things you learn once, they are skills you maintain all your life. they build persistence, self-discipline, and confidence. things the ruling class do not want you, their chosen enemy, to have.

verrot, a dark-skinned male elf, dances with a skeleton behind an open coffin. behind him, a fleet of war horses with unicorn-horned bridles billow out like smoke.

just setting my whole second monitor to this. it's so cool that you can just watch a dang livestream of the outside camera as it slowly approaches the moon, and by "slowly" I mean "at an absurd speed you've never seen anything move at in your life" artemis.cdnspace.ca
I love that seals are so graceful and perfect underwater and such complete galumphing sacks on land and that they choose the land anyway, constantly. I desire to be as comfortable in uncomfortable spaces as they are, to roll about like a sausage falling down the stairs
(roguish assassin trying to wish her new friend a good day and that she'll see her later) hey. watch your back. i'll be coming for you.
Skeleton of a blue whale suspended in a dead beach tree. Seagulls ominously loom and buoys hand from tired ropes.

fucking hell I switched to firefox to avoid the increasing bullshit of Chrome a year ago and it seems like the bullshit has decided to follow me
Google [pointing a gun at your gmail account]: now listen to me very carefully, if you want to keep using this you’re going to keep Gemini on. You love Gemini, everyone loves it, everyone needs it.

For @samsorensen.bsky.social's #OVER/UNDER I created WEATHERVANE, an in-universe themed combat simulator. Using it, our faction was able to predict the outcome of any battle with a high degree of confidence. It helped us price mercenary contracts and go into any combat knowing the expected outcomes.
they need an "american" filter on bsky that hides all americans by default. peace on earth

fanart of Artemis from Hades 2, wearing a modern outfit - dark jeans, bra with some sort of laces around the belly -, moon and arrows tattoos on the arms and chest, dark green hair, and a tiny owl standing on her head she's adjusting her outfit, head slightly tilted down, eyes closed, smiling she also wears an arrow earring and a moon necklace

Someone's screenshot of a two-post twitter thread, from user blue (@bluewmist): the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much. you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.
Found this on the AO3 subreddit, and I'm about to let it change my whole life (or at least work really hard to internalize it wrt my writing).
the real trick in Enemies to Lovers is not getting characters to fall in love it's getting them to truly despise each other first. vague dislike and mild distrust because of extant circumstances isn't enough. i need actual enmity, real archfoe bullshit. i need to see them make each other bleed.
drawing is hard. writing is hard. what if I got into bloodsports instead.
