I think to reduce Caine down to “he’s just like AM now” is a bit too simple; I view him less as a villain and a monster, and more as a neglected child having a tantrum.

His breakdown, while certainly malicious, was driven by anguish and confusion at the world rather than solely anger or hate.

hope TADC fans will come to understand that Caine can be BOTH a good representation of neurodivergent people struggling to connect with others AND a selfish prick obsessed with being the center of attention.
