I'd say that this applies to anyone traveling in a car in any city. Being in a car versus walking, riding, or taking transit fundamentally changes how you view a place and your relationship to it. I wish more leaders set this kind of example.

If you live in some of the more typical American sprawl environments and your only shopping choices are big box stores and chains, you're not going to have a lot of say in whether or not you can opt out of an AI-powered shopping experience.

I'm worried that just like living in a walkable neighborhood is a luxury good, living in a place where you can talk to shopkeepers, baristas, and other people is also going to become a benefit available to the wealthy. These things overlap in lots of ways.
