Yep. That’s how I learned to swim and it’s probably why it never feels natural to wear a bathing suit. It was disappointing when the rules changed and we had to start wearing suits.

Good question. All I know is that I believe that more nonsexual, normal nudity would be a healthy thing. Beaches, parks, hiking and other recreational areas.

During the mid 1960’s our family lived in Switzerland for a year. When we went swimming at the public pools there was one children’s changing room. Both sexes and it was perfectly normal. I remember some adults of both sexes also in there and I assume they were parents. It seemed very normal.

When I was learning to swim in about 1960 it was still common at public pools for males to swim nude during all male sessions. We truly lived that nudity was normal among others. Sadly this practice died out during the 60’s and early 70’s.
