The more I think about the techno-fascist tech nerds the more I wonder if the Nazis were just a bunch of angry nerds.

This is as good as everyone's saying it is. The anti-corruption message is a good one, imo
Emily is on the frontline, fighting the good fight. I signed - you should too.
Emily idk if anyone in your world has access to Hugh Grant, but he'd LOVE to see this.
Appreciate the inimitable @realmegbear.bsky.social including our research on the Actual State of Enterprise Data health in her newsletter.

Loss upon loss upon loss for MAGA. And when you’re losing so much you lose one other thing- the fear you had instilled in other politicians, the media, universities and business.
JD Vance, are you free in October

Almost a year ago, I was described in the FT as "a Cassandra with a wry grin and twinkling eye", and was entertained becaus Cassandra (famously) was right.
It's actually not fun, though, to watch the world do things you've been warning against:

BREAKING: Trump announces two week window for Congress to remove him from office
oh Rob. What a wonderful thing to have a great father. May his memory be a blessing to all of you.
23 people could stop this genocidal war criminal. That’s it. 23.
20 Republican senators and 3 republican reps in the house and he’d be out of politics forever. But they won’t.
They’re addicted to power. A drug so strong they’d rather see a civilization die than give it up.
Now any white man promoted has to be considered suspect because he may well have taken the place of a more qualified black or female officer personally removed from the promotion list by Hegseth.
I respect that the leaked source code for the Claude client is protected by copyright.
But wouldn’t it be ok for me to train my LLM on it?
You know, fair use and all that.

AI is data and most companies have a massive data health problem.
Proud of this work with Alyx exposing some hard truth that shouldn’t be hard at all
I believe the people who most need honest, independent research about enterprise data are the practitioners living inside the problem, not the vendors selling solutions to it. Today, @maureenb2b.bsky.social and I published our Enterprise Data Health Study. This is the start, not the finish.
Industry benchmarks: 93% plan to deploy AI agents within 2 years. Our independent research with @maureenb2b.bsky.social: 3 of 18 have anything close to a live implementation. The gap between benchmark and reality is where millions of dollars of investment disappears. Download here: bit.ly/4dghVil
This is such a clear example of how transphobia goes hand in hand with misogyny against cis women. The underlying principle here is "Sports are for boys. We can let girls have their little fake sports on the side, but they can't be too strong—that would be gross!"
Thank god Jo Rowling has been so effective at protecting women.
What a nightmare
Yessssss why whyyy can we not get this in Europe
Excerpt from the article: "The question here is not really one of whether such prayer is in fact an attempt to “dominate” – or the more obvious explanation, that during Ramadan one breaks ones’ fast by eating very briefly just before and then more properly after the evening Maghrib prayer (yes, like our own Maariv prayer). Rather it is about whether one has the right to publicly express their religious identity in this country. In this specific instance, an event to mark a key event in the Islamic calendar had been openly and legally booked for Trafalgar Square. Muslims present had every right to pray as a part of that."
The Jewish News, which I am proud to work for as Deputy Editor, has published an editorial on this week's Iftar prayers in Trafalgar Square

via @dell.bsky.social: "I didn’t feel like I could live with myself." Anticipatory guilt is the correct and healthy response when being induced to compromise your principles. Congrats to this guy for having a functioning moral compass. QUOTE TWEETING: @miasato.bsky.social: New: Prediction markets are trying to cut deals with reporters, offering hundreds of dollars per story that uses their data. Rick Ellis, and independent entertainment reporter, tells me why he said no
via @transgenderreport.com: John Lithgow almost quit the Harry Potter series over J.K. Rowling's anti-trans views
same lesson, different outcome
Will take any opportunity to read or get to listen to @timnitgebru.bsky.social and @karenhao.bsky.social
But both of them together? Restorative. Palliative. Even joy.
