I use LLM's like #Claude and #ChatGPT almost daily to code.
I have found that it still takes me just as long to build a web application, but the quality of what is built is higher.
I am able to add lot more little features than I have ever done in the past.
So, yes, productivity is up.

Getting #Claude to help me code some PHP today.
It's so damn productive not having to type!
PHP paid the bills for 20 odd years, but for the last 7 I've been a Python man.
Not having to wade into PHP again is a godsend.
NASA just dropped this image of Artemis II astronaut Christina Koch looking back at us. The first woman to ever see our planet in its entirety. I’m not crying you’re crying 🥹🔭🧪 📸: NASA
Check out this site @andyide.bsky.social put together to facilitate two-sentence journal writing. I like the interface! Compact and elegant.
Thanks so much Lex!

Sometimes management makes programmer add setting they may not agree with.

I hate corporate speak.

I'm thinking that AGI will be smarter than 50% of humans.
At the start.
LinkedIn posts be like:
"I hired some guy, and even though he was a brilliant engineer and a perfect culture fit - he has a family he had to support so I knew I'd never get 110% from him - here is what I learned from firing him..."
When you are living your best life!
Short musings on "cognitive debt" - I'm seeing this in my own work, where excessive unreviewed AI-generated code leads me to lose a firm mental model of what I've built, which then makes it harder to confidently make future decisions simonwillison.net/2026/Feb/15/...
buttons with 0.5rem and 0.5rem 1rem padding
design tip for programmers: text likes having slightly more horizontal padding than vertical padding :)
The pursuit of happiness?
The best strategy is to sit quietly holding some treats and encourage it to come to you
Used to play it a lot back in the day. Went to give it a go again a few years ago and goodness it was difficult.
“Dad, someone in The Trading Post is advertising tickets to see the Melania movie”
“What do they want?”
“They’ll pay you 50 bucks if you sit through the whole thing and not fall asleep “
“Tell ‘em they’re dreaming’ “
That functionality will come in new versions. You gotta go one step at a time with such a well used, robust framework.
What do you call an all white penguin?
Neat Casual.
HA HA HA!
Almost there!
Why not both?
It is a source of pride me that once in 2010 my (no longer living) blog got Slashdotted.
Slashdot linked to an image in a post. 10k hits a min for a blog running on a Apache server that was used to 100 hits a day.
The peak lasted several hours but the increase in traffic continued for months.
Me: OK, I need to indent this single line.
Word: how about the whole document?
Me: no!
Word: WHOLE DOCUMENT DONE 🙂
Me: Arghhh.
Word: yaaaaay indent!
Me: UNDO, UNDO
Word: *indents everything you've ever written in both the past and future*
Word: I'm a word processor!
Why are actors unable to cut vegetables in a decent way?
Their knife skills, in general, really suck.
