she was fun to play, I did play both versions of her a bit in that game.
they really need an allstars version like how Tekken tag had everyone in it.

Yes, I was experimenting with unique ways to create outfit shapes and came up with that as an idea, I'm not sure yet if it has deeper meaning for her or if it is just a cool iconic shape.
I'll think that over. I tried keeping the designs fairly minimal because if I ever made anything out of them it will be a LOT of drawing, so the less the better.
glad you like the basic concept though!
yeah sadly it never got a PC port or anything. It was really good and had some of the best versions of a lot of characters imo. Also my main was Amy who was not in V so that kinda didn't help me liking it either.
tyty, I appreciate it ๐
I like Graves design a lot tbh and she was one inspiration for this character, but I am happy with the direction I took this in instead.
Yoshi was always an oddball because he was partly based on his Tekken kit which obviously was a totally different combat system.
My fave Soulcalibur is by far IV. I never was a fan of the supers they added in V and the way they removed moves to accommodate them. It really doesn't fit the game imo.

She is a short woman with wide hips wearing a skullkini bikini harness and skull themed thigh highs and a giant sentient hat and chonky skull boots. Her shaggy platinum blonde hair covers her eyes and she has little freckles. She is next to two portals with tentacle fists emerging from the floor giving the sign of the goat.

The OG character concept design for my imaginary fighting game!
I like that she is just sort of absurd, and that sort of set the tone for how out there characters in this project could eventually be.

Thanks everyone for the interest in these two and my imaginary fighting game project! I'll share my old art from the project over the next couple days too for any who haven't seen it.

A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHES! ๐
Skullvolver Girl a new character concept for my imaginary fighting game project.
I don't think I ever posted my imaginary fighting game project stuff here before, I should fix that.
Just thought I would share so y'all know I'm not dead, just been busy.

lol, that would explain the radioactive blue glow of the tentafists and her hat... XD
Yup 100% agreed, if the system works the same across the roster more or less and you can pick up a new character and learn how they should be played without breaking your fingers and memorizing a novel then that is good in my book.
I'll be posting the old concepts I made over the next couple days and I would be happy to hear your thoughts on them if you feel like sharing or have any ideas. I'm glad to get feedback at this stage cause the more stuff I can pull from the better.
I think that difficult inputs become tiring and really don't much in terms of fun. I love the simplicity of Soul Calibur inputs because you can introduce new people to the game and it lets them have fun straight away rather than grinding. I think that is partly why people like platform fighters too.
nice that sounds really cozy and cute!
I was thinking 2D movement ala Streetfighter. I would like to come up with an original control scheme and not have it follow Streetfighter inputs.
I liked the old days of fighting games where each kinda did their own thing.
The art would probably be pretty low frame rate 2D art like the concepts.
lol this is the best way possible to explain this concept! XD
That does sound like it could be a fun game. I miss back in the late 90s early 2000s when there were a bunch of totally different creature collector type games that all worked differently.
I was thinking Zoner at this stage, it isn't a role that any of the current characters have and I think it would fit then pretty well.
I wouldn't be opposed to some tag/puppeteer sort of moves thrown in there though, that could def be cool to play as primarily one of them for a little bit.
Nice nice! Yeah I have dabbled in game dev myself and that is where I thought this could be a fun project for me someday.
tyty so much! ๐๐๐
lol that would be too good! XD
maybe they could do a random gesture from a list of a bunch of them when taunting so it is different each time.
tyty! Yeah I love those guys too, they are too funny!
It would be really hilarious to have them flex and stuff for taunts.
A realm of infinite clobbering! XD

Here is a sample move set!
I'd love to do more of these!
Punch Witch, uses dark magic to summon otherworldly Tentafists to clobber her opponent.
These ancient fist abominations excel at hard hits and grabs, and there is a seemingly endless number of them. What do they connect to on the other side?

yeah that would be pretty rad honestly, you are right!
thanks thanks, I appreciate the input btw! ๐
oh also sometimes red, which is most of Graves outfit. her magic is yellow green I suppose.
Yeah I'll keep playing with the concept, my whole imaginary fighting game project is just an excuse to throw together cool ideas. Also palette swaps are common in fighting games too.
I couldn't find other colors I liked a lot yet when I tried them, but also green is just the necromancer color... XD
tyty! ๐
The concept for this was rolling around in my head for a good while and Graves was actually one of the missing pieces that got me to sit down and actually put something on paper.
So you are not wrong at all with that! XD
I do worry some that she is a bit close, but really it doesn't matter
