Yeah but they don’t get to go to faculty meetings. So who’s really winning here???
@lluaces.bsky.social excited to see where positive affect treatment research goes related to anticipatory positive affect concerns!

Supremely talented doctoral student Halle Fowler is hoping to put together an ABCT panel related to Deaf and Hard of Hearing suicide prevention or mental health. We have multiple qualitative and quantitative studies on DHH interpretation in mental health settings. We need help finding panelists!
Keep us a breast at how this continues to unfold!
New positive affect intervention!! Get married to the most amazing person and have all your loved ones attend! 10/10 would recommend!
I know it is not local Louisiana flair - but an awesome Israeli food here if that’s your thing. Asha and Saba uptown are both so good. Grab the street car (not trolley) uptown and really get some Nola uptown flair on the way!
Lab thesis presentations this semester include a linguistic analysis of ASL suicide risk interpretations, experimental investigation of single session interventions to increase help-seeking, and ambulatory assessment of suicide ideation vulnerability in sexual minority folks! Such cool work!
Wow the diversity of those topic areas!!! What a testament to the work the center is doing!
Reflecting the efforts of so many - most importantly our study participants who gave their time to help others - I'm thrilled to share the results of our RCT evaluating the effectiveness of the #SafetyPlanningIntervention for #SuicidePrevention in the year after jail release.
Only thing worse than flying today is having to do it with a poster tube.... Good luck IASR attendees! Hoping to see you there!
Wonderful! We quick went over this in our assessment course today!
Dang, actually that was a masterclass in describing this! Screenshotting for my lab!
And then teach trainees this skills - especially those who want to use science to serve others! 🫣
I know the world is burning, but yall should be watching the little league World Series. Such great baseball!
Of course (oops to noodle, but sort of still tracks). I like the memory exercise as it sort of sets up why I ask them to do guided notes, attend lecture, etc. all in service of supporting recall and recognition on dreaded test day… so maybe sort of study habits tracing too??? Maybe? Haha
I teach intro for upwards of 900. I’ve linked my noodle page only opening up once people watch a brief class overview video and pass a super easy syllabus quiz. That way when I get to class we can hit the high notes and do an engagement activity to build class excitement (usually a memory test)

Can’t wait to connect! Our abstract on adults’ ability to accurately retrospect their suicidal desire dynamics in the past week was accepted as well! See you in Boston for some science and lobster rolls!
Our university president and provost leave the same month we transition a ton of student services/academic admiration to Workday… coincidence?? Sign of things to come this fall??

My lab is a touch late to using OSF! Anyone have an OSF page they are particularly proud of their organization and willing to share?? Already a touch overwhelmed with how to keep it organized. Thanks!!!
Defining "successful" coping has been an interesting question for our lab as we continue to investigate when people use coping resource in real time (onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...). When most people in our EMA studies do not attempt, how should we message when to use a resource?
"So you want me to meditate everytime Im hopeless... ill be meditating all day" My team gets this type of comment when doing suicide safety planning all the time. So when "should" someone thinking about suicide use a coping skill? ideaiton intensity changes? A warning sign gets worse?
Based in part off of Dr. Diamond's awesome review (www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...), my lab is trying to do more in SGM suicide than throwing minority stress variables into models. anyone out there testing felt sense of social safety?! We have EMA items but want to be thoughtful on measurement
New blog post in which I discuss measurement invariance from a causal perspective. Come for the amateurish featured image (who needs photoshop anyway), stay for fancy Pooh as figure label. Bonus: You'll finally understand the different levels of invariance (I hope).

Ex Novo just doesn’t miss! My buddy brings it back to Louisiana when he travels home. I wait for him eagerly everytime
