And also while you’re at it, look through some of your past social media posts and try to see how someone with a different viewpoint might perceive you based on what you’ve been putting out there

The point I’m trying to make is, before you point the finger at anyone, or lecture anyone about needing to “tone down the rhetoric”, maybe take a moment and look through some of the reactions to what happened yesterday and apply some critical thinking skills.

And Trump immediately blamed the left despite the fact that the killer still hasn’t been identified, and he even suggested that he may crack down on leftists in America.

Now take a moment and reflect on those very different reactions to the same incident

Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, Elon Musk didn’t even wait until Kirk’s death was confirmed before he posted that the Democrats are “the party of murder.”

He then told his audience not to watch it because it was too gruesome, and said that despite his disagreements with Kirk, he was not happy about him being murdered

🧵Something to think about:

Yesterday, Hasan Piker, who is a left-wing political commentator and probably one of the most demonized people by the right, watched the video of Charlie Kirk’s assassination live on stream and was visibly horrified.

I bit the bullet a a couple weeks ago and got one. I was gonna wait until more games came out for it, but then I saw they were in stock and figured with tariffs about to kick in again now was probably as good a time as any

I acknowledge that. Frankly, I’d rather live in an environment where people take that seriously and report it. Thank you for caring, and I do mean that.

I’ve been on social media long enough to where I’m not scared to bite back if someone is acting like a troll

I haven’t been suicidal for several years. I promise I’m fine, I was just reacting to a troll comment.

Trust me, if was going to do that, I wouldn’t announce it to strangers on the internet

Maybe I’ll just kill myself instead 😀

I’m not sure I’d call Bluesky mom & pop considering it was founded by Jack Dorsey.

I literally do not care about this enough to want to argue about it multiple days. I’ll mute the conversation if I have to

I’m not telling anyone not to like Bluesky, use whatever platform you want. I’m literally just stating that another platform has more users. And it’s kinda wild to me that I’m getting pushback for that. Like I don’t know if this is a tribalism thing or what

For the record, I really have no affinity for any platform at this point. I'm at the point where I'm one minor inconvenience away from deleting all social media. I'm simply pointing out that I can definitely tell that Bluesky has the smaller user base just from being here

Honestly, the people I see hyping up Bluesky the most seem to like it because it happens to be the platform their friends settled on. Which makes me wonder if they wouldn't be just as happy with a Discord server. But every time I open Threads, it always seems WAY more active

I'm actually pretty sure you can now have a Threads account without having Instagram. Besides, that doesn't change the fact that Bluesky's growth and activity has definitely slowed. I've noticed it. Lately, everytime I open this app, it's always the same 20 people posting.

Threads came out after Bluesky and yet it averaged over 300 million active users in the first quarter of this year.

Compared to Twitter and Thread's user base, yes it is. That's not a defense of either platform, because they both suck in their own way, but Bluesky's userbase seems to have plateaued a bit. Just for reference, Threads came out after Bluesky and it currently has over 300 million monthly users.

Out of all the decades, I’d love to know how the 90s, the one that produced grunge, which is arguably the most liberal movement in rock history, somehow equates to MAGA. Not to mention all the social commentary from the rap music back then.

Depending on the game, sometimes they are. Heck, in Twilight Princess, Ilia is Link’s love interest. But, then again, there have been games like TOTK where it was implied that they were living together. And one of the devs pretty much confirmed that they’re a couple in that game

Also, I can understand some people not liking South Park because it can be gross and vulgar, but hating it because it occasionally makes fun of liberals is childish.

If you want to be in a cult that can’t take a joke or acknowledge when people on your side are acting crazy, then be a Republican

With all the conversation about South Park I’ve seen today, all I want to add is, if you thought Trey Parker and Matt Stone were right wing, then you’ve clearly never watched an episode of their show. If I had to describe them as anything, I’d say they’re chaotic neutral.

That’s why I don’t play a lot of “tribute games.” Even something like Bravely Default. Everyone keeps telling me that it’s exactly like FF5. But the problem with that is, if I’m in the mood to play FF5, then I’ll just play FF5. If I’m going to buy a brand new game, I’d like it to be a new experience

So…I’ve done nuzlockes before, but I’m a little confused as to how a nuzlocke tournament is supposed to work. Is everyone going to battle with a team of 6 until one of the teams has no Pokémon left? Or is it a competition to see who can make it through an entire playthrough with the fewest deaths?

Depends. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve began to realize that there are some battles that aren’t worth picking. I’ve learned to not waste the effort on certain things

Honestly, I don’t even feel like celebrating at this point

2) I’m going to be 30 years old in September. At this point in life, I’m done coddling grown adults who complain about things like movies or video games. I simply do not care, nor do I have the energy to argue about it anymore. Because there’s a lot more important things to worry about in life

My two thoughts on this:

1) If raising prices is Nintendo’s excuse for not laying off employees, then I guess I’m fine paying the higher price. It’s not like other gaming companies haven’t found other ways to nickel and dime you

Until some conservative PAC sues the city and the Supreme Court cites some obscure law from the 1830s as a reason for why no city is allowed to have affordable rent.

Because at this point, I’d be more shocked if that didn’t happen

To be fair, I’ve never really followed any esports communities, but the stereotype I’ve always heard about pro Smash players is that they are a bunch of incels who never shower. I knew someone in college who went to a melee tournament and he told me it was the worst smelling place he ever went to

Yeah, I’ve always felt Zoro was justified in his hatred for him
