Another month in the books for the rileyb3d site. Asset and adddon downloads up almost 600% from last month! Thanks for using my stuff. I haven't even finished the Blender → Godot pipeline tools I think will be most impactful.

Area lights in Godot 🙃
I found an approach to interior light in #godot. I don't love real time GI or light baking so I fake bounce with multiple lights.
For switches I ID the switch object in Blender and organize all lights associated with that switch under a parent node in Godot. My script looks for this hierarchy. #b3d
I've been a fan of DreamUV for a long time, but unfortunately I'm not smart enough to use all of it's features. I only ever use hotspot mapping. So I created a simple "Easy Hotspot" mapping Blender addon based on the same workflow. You can go download for free on my site. #b3d

My site was down for a bit because I did a major overhaul. It's now totally transparent. Track my monthly donation earnings, earnings history, downloads, courses watched. It's all free.
This will put my own Patreon out of business but that's ok. The world is better this way.

I'll take people's money all day if it means making this game a reality. I don't really care for the whole "shame on you for not working for free, like me" culture. Toxic.
All or nothing mentality can hurt your progress. You're not a great IndieDev or a terrible IndieDev. You're not either successful or a failure. Sometimes you're in transition and it takes time to build and learn.
Keep at it because I can't wait to see what you make.
Remember to give yourself credit for how far you've come. A year ago I was in a mentorship learning how to do basic functionality like player crouching. Last night I wrote an entire item spawning system complete with randomization, spawning in specific zones, and UI for it all.
