I agree. I hope they stay high so people change their behaviour (drive less, take public transit, get on an ebike). However, high gas prices also means high food prices, unfortunately. Not that getting rid of taxes would help with that.

The EV ignorance is wild. An older gent I met recently told me to go hybrid not EV for my next car. I asked why. His reason was you can’t do long drives bc lack of chargers. I told him my brother drove halfway across Canada in his EV. He looked shocked.
