Finally starting a vampire counts army I’ve been thinking about for ages after selling some 40K stuff, Soulblight models from sigmar are so good

Running a primarily melee army against a wall of tanks for today’s Heresy game. Turns out you can just axe the tanks to death if you need to.

Idk this is probably just me not keeping up with bigger gigs but £44 is a lot of money to see Bright Eyes in 2025 right

First Shatterpoint of the year and first time running lots of droids. Very fun, ridiculously mobile, bad at shooting.

A cracking weekend at in Nottingham for the first Vardis Heresy event of the year, Space Wolves/Blood Angels allies for duos, got killed a lot but won best players which is the most important award

Hobby thread 2025 so I remember what I’ve done this year!

Finally getting around to watching Fargo beyond season 1 and it turns out the rest of it is as good as season 1 huh

Thing I painted of the year goes to Be’Lakor. Hope I can get him on the table in 2025.

Tabletop thing of year goes to Star Wars: Shatterpoint. A properly great game, loved playing this regularly with a local community. Honourable mentions to Warhammer: The Horus Heresy, Arcs.

I saw like 3 films this year so my favourite film of the year is Dune 2. I enjoyed Civil War at the time but haven’t thought about it since, and Challengers is bad.

Game of the year goes to the first half of Metaphor: Refantazio. Honourable mentions to Balatro, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Next year I really need to finish more games, and play more Hades 2.

Album of the year goes to All Hell by Los Camp!, truly brilliant step above anything they’ve done before. Honourable mentions to Hidden Mothers, Riley!, a place for owls, Heirot, Touché Amoré and Aaron West.

Honestly didn’t even have especially high hopes for War Of The Rohirrim but it’s really disappointing. Whole mess of ideas, really cringey/desperate referencing of specific moments of LotR etc. a shame, the pitch was cool, we don’t get much if any Rohan lore

Nice.

Maybe next year I’ll finish Elden Ring, who knows
