Whimbrel time is such a highlight of the birding year at Snitser Mar. The Kop Blosksleat is a great point to experience it. Sunset, nice views, lots of tea, and loads of birds.

Its so much fun documenting the big Whimbrel roost at Snitser Mar this year. Yday @hpsterk.bsky.social and Dick Pruiksma joined in a simultaneous count to cover three arrival directions. Together we saw at least 2700 Whimbrels, the vast majority arriving from NE-SE. waarneming.nl/observation/...
