Everyone’s annoyed with Discord, I think we should all go back to landline phones and we memorise each other’s numbers (I actually set up this phone so my friends can call me)

Or you can take the phone apart and probably do something easier that way. I prefer to keep the phone intact

Directly driving a phone is actually kinda complicated, but there are cheap little boards which do the hardest work for you (and can be powered + controlled directly with cheap dev boards e.g. esp32). Check out Silvertel AG1171 + “The Phone Friend” project on Hackaday

One of my toxic traits is that I think of a software/hardware idea and go “yeah I could probably make that”. And this time it’s to make my own adapter 😅

I’m using a device called an Analog Telephone Adapter, it connects to a SIP (Internet phone) server. I also want to do similar assistant setup, but I think a different way of connecting the phone might work better (don’t have to dial any number; no need for SIP server).

It works! And damn this phone ringer sounds goood

Just had a look through my photos app “year in review” and holy heck this was a year of life being LIVED!

I did count the curry, I’m sorry. But I actually didn’t count the 0th time I cooked chili, so all together it will still be 20th time, so am not liar 😌

Tomorrow will be the 20th time this year making a huge pot of chili and inviting furries to our house to eat it! Long may it continue
