You ever try to code switch at work and fail? đ
Sledgehammer was released 40 years ago today!
I'm trying to go out for a walk round the block after meals. It's not a long walk - about 10 mins - but it's supposed to be very good for your blood sugar. And the weather today is so beautiful. It's put me in quite a good mood!
My advice to Labour is don't let Starmer resign as the press will chase out the next one too, and the next one. Just go fuck it.
Maybe I could write that as my big airport inspirational Ted Talk book, "Fuck 'em, they hate you anyway, don't play by their rules, you can't win. Just go fuck it."
A table by a window. On the table is a vase containing red and yellow tulips. Through the window you can a row of trees covered in pink cherry blossom

yep - i wanted an e-bike when i lived in a tenement and had to save up for a (then) quite expensive one so it was powerful(ish) but also light enough for me to carry up 48 stairs, what with insurance insisting it be behind a locked door etc.
This morning Iâve seen Olly Robbinsâs appearance before the select committee described as âbox officeâ, while a commentator flagged up another key political moment with the words âbring the popcornâ.
Thatâs one of our main problems right there.
One of the Sandy Hook families lives in hiding 1500 mi away from their babyâs grave due to people stalking them.
The graves of multiple children have been defaced.
One of the fathers had to submit DNA evidence to prove his son was a REAL HUMAN BEING after Alex Jonesâ book said he never existed.
maybe they can make a not-horrible calendar app too
Today is the 2 year anniversary of when I met the Ravens. They just checked me out from a distance then! Here is some of my fav footage: them courting, feeding each other, barrel rolling and some of their vocalisations. They are the most amazing birds and I am so lucky to have them!
#RISEUP We must be what they fear. The #USA is an evil Empire of corporate interests. There is no republic, no great leader coming to our rescue. Just regional managers as far as the eye can see.
looks like a lovely wee fellow
Baking set to opera. Found this weirdly satisfying.
Screenshot of purchase bundles for audiobooks, in which random amounts of credits can be purchased but the price per credit doesn't go down the more you buy
this nonsense from Libro.fm reminds me of the time i was in an offie in Aviemore and they had big bars of Galaxy at the till.
'2 for ÂŁ1' said the sign (it was the '80s).
'How much for one?' I asked.
'Fifty pence,' came the reply.
A poem from Diane Seuss's most recent collection, Modern Poetry.
Against narrativizing.
Comma
What possible song
would you play when you toss my ashes,
someone once asked me.
There is no song, he said. Don't
narrativize, Diane: Don't narrativize Diane.
See what a comma can do?
Not Jesus, obviously, just some bloke selling loaves and fishes
"The image clearly depicts me as a simple vendor of seafood sandwiches"
Someone needed some music to be in a film they'd made. They asked me if I would let them use one of my songs, "Because it's great, and also it's on in the background during a dinner party at these really boring people's house."
I think the GOP's plan is something like : get battered in midterms > shrug if dems impeach/remove him > never have to publicly disown maga > find a less deranged maga-ish candidate > win in '28. They can always count on how desperate red voters are to not have to vote blue.
Something like this will have to happen in this country once Trumpism is defeated. In the absence of accountability, the world will rightly assume that it will happen again.
i laughed a lot - the questions are brilliant

that's impressive! I gave away my pasta maker after a single terrible attempt c.30 yrs ago. Maybe should've persisted
many years ago i wrote some drama for radio 4 and the producer was really worried about a character saying 'shut up' - i was baffled, still am, and it was kept tho
i blame myself really - should have heeded the warning that time they were doing Michael Collins and they went to Dublin and had an Irish historian guest. Fast fwd to their Mary Queen of Scots one - stay in London and just do it themselves
for a while when my eyes were bad i listened to The Rest Is History pod and quite enjoyed it - just tried it again and, my god, these guys are insufferable. Either the scales have fallen from my eyes or they've got a lot worse, e.g. Holland's 'acting' is way more frequent and offensive
I'm closing my Amazon account - what's the best place sell my books online?
