New logo sucks but The Cracker Barrel always sucked.
Comics didn't "get political" they always were.
Superman was always woke, you just grew up to become the kind of person Superman would be disappointed in.
I see them at Home Depot on the weekends all the time, never during the week, for some reason 😆
I only recognize one King.
Presently experiencing this season in Colorado, luckily my meds seem to be working
I like how for men's clothing Kohl's only stocks things for 12 year old boys and 74 year old men. Either attire for middle school or The Villages, nothing in between.
Today's fun fact I learned via Wikipedia is that the boring mainline protestant church I was made to go to as a child was also the denomination that ordained Jim Jones.
Yep few schools can say they burned down and were rebuilt.
I actually had a copy of this. It was a quarter bin find when I was a teenager, I thought it was funny that Marvel published a Pope comic book, especially since Stan Lee (and a lot of the staff) was Jewish.
We went to the same junior high. I was there about 4 years after.
Like straight up “MCA of the seminal hip hop/rock group the Beastie Boys has died, now here’s a set of Imagine Dragons and the Red Hot Chili Peppers…”
I was riding in a coworker’s car going somewhere and they had the local Clear Channel owned alt rock station on. The DJ read the news of MCA’s death and then immediately played a set of music without any Beastie Boys songs in it.
Adam Yauch, MCA of the Beastie Boys, died on this day 13 years ago. I remember exactly what I was doing when I heard the news.
I’ve walked out for lesser reasons
Lost another artist whose art I always liked. Whenever I picked up a comic and it had art by Jackson Guice I knew I was in for some solid storytelling and art. Always felt he deserved more recognition.
You can watch PBS' new Art Spiegelman documentary on their website, and possibly their app right now:
He definitely directly inspired the creation of a certain DC character
there hasn't even been research into what they do to men, from what I hear from friends in the emergency medicine field
I love that movie, especially when they "upgrade" the car
It worked back in the Bush years
I feel the same way about “we are the flowers in the dust bin”
Billy Idol, The Go Gos and Blondie are the template that pop punk should have followed, not Blink 182
I looked it up and I am older than him
I just want to say that I hate sharing a name with that loser.
One of my favorite engravings by Gustav Dore
