AI might just be one of the most evil creations humanity has ever come up with. Its only purpose is to strip human society of any form of trust, sincerity or genuine creativity and I hate it with everything I have.

I’m sending nothing but love, best wishes and endless support to you. I hope you’re able to indulge as much as you possibly can, and that good news miraculously appears in your life. Words are cheap but your kind words then meant to the world to me, and I want to thank you for sparing the time.

Kyle, 2 years ago you left a reply on one of my comics that still fills my heart with such encouragement and fulfilment, long after that material has grown trite and naive in hindsight. I hope you know the real lasting impact of the joy you spread, and I’m so incredibly sorry about your situation.

important reminder: food banks usually prefer money to direct food donations because they can buy at discounted rates

check with your local food bank to be sure but now is the time to help out

Restricting the expression of sexuality through fiction and art made by adults, for adults – including those you find personally disturbing or offputting – is conservative censorship, full stop. When that censorship disproportionately affects subgroups, that's also discrimination. For shame.

draining is a really good for what it feels like to be doing anything creative right now.

Very disappointed in @bsky.app for choosing to silence artists, self moderation is the way. People can block and move on if they don't like what they see.

Censorship is never the way. It's a double edged sword and it WILL be used to hurt creatives.

Being an artist in this fucked up world is so fucking exhausting it just drains me completely sometimes

The solution right now is not saying “move to Mastodon, to Pillowfort, use Picarto galleries” etc, bc that won't stop this silent escalation of censorship and sexual repression on the internet. The issue is not which platform we choose, but rather raising our voices against what is happening.

I have *never* used ChatGPT. Not once.

I’m not saying I’m better than you… oh fuck it, I’m better than you.

Controversial opinion, but I think trans people should feel safe here on bluesky, and nazis shouldn't.

A simple line drawing with halftone shading of the titular pig-man from the movie Porco Rosso. He’s wearing a trench coat with the collar turned up and a wide brimmed fedora and sunglasses. His mouth is wide open in a sarcastic laugh. A word balloon says, ‘Maybe it will happen today’

Digital illustration done in a rough comic ink style. A possum mother trundled along with four possum babies on her back. Each possum is speaking a string of connected speech balloons reading ‘maybe it will happen today’.

Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me?
Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.

corporations being able to control what kind of art we're allowed to see on the internet is bad

thank you. that is incredible. I know how much queer blood was spilled in pursuit of that and it’s a momentous thing. Maybe I need to be putting in more effort myself to find this sort of news.

I wish there was literally any good news right now. Feels like it’s been three years of just wading through muck.

the overwhelming degree of unfettered evil that the past few years has revealed in all institutions of the world has done a real number on me. I never thought any of them were paragons of morality, but I somehow had an idea there were levels they wouldn’t stoop to.
