America has first-past-the-post elections, so that’s why there has never been a viable third party except to replace a collapsing party. It’s just math. The GOP is captive to Trumpism, so that’s means everyone else has to get behind the Dems to dislodge the entrenched power.
Congrats to all our friends at Blue Origin on the successful NG-1 launch of the New Glenn rocket!
At long last, Blue Origin's New Glenn made it to orbit -- and on the first try too. We didn't get a booster landing, but that was always icing on the cake www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
Blue did the thing! It was sooo good.
Blue Origin launched its New Glenn rocket into orbit for the first time on Thursday morning.
Blue Origin has launched suborbital rockets, but New Glenn vaults the company into a bigger class of rockets that are the workhorses for reaching outer space.

I’m a Texas native. My family has been in the region since the 1830s. Freedom of religion must include freedom from religion.
1. On the “lethality” debate: the problem for the U.S. military over the past few decades has never been one of “lethality” (the ability to kill people and break things) but mission and strategy. This requires insight and wisdom, not just warrior mojo.
Two moon landers — one from Texas and the other from Japan — began their journey to the lunar surface Wednesday morning.
Central Texas-based Firefly Aerospace is launching its first moon mission, while Japan's ispace is taking its second landing attempt.

I like him even better now.
@doctivist.bsky.social ordered me something special for Xmas and it arrived today! I love this jacket!
We really enjoyed it.
They seem to have both been veterans with mental health disorders.
The Moon is the next step in developing space-based industrial enterprise for the benefit of humanity. China knows this and has focused their sample return program accordingly. We must surpass those efforts for pluralistic democracy to win the 21st century. #AdLunam
Tuxedos are such cuddle bugs.
Argh, almost forgot the USS Midway and the San Diego Air & Space Museum! And the National WWII Museum
That’s tough, some are closed to the public… in no order:
CIA HQS Museum
Aberdeen Proving Grounds
Fort Bliss Army Air Defense
NASM Downtown
NASM Udvar-Hazy
KSC Visitor Center
Museum of Flight
Hill AFB in Utah
EAA Museum Oshkosh
US National Naval Aviation
Hon. Mention: Warner-Robins AFB
It was a lot of hard work to get here and I couldn’t be prouder for our team! Definitely a great Xmas present for us! #AdLunam
New from 404 Media: nearly a *dozen* aircraft near New Jersey/JFK have reported people shining lasers at them Tuesday during ongoing drone panic, according to ATC audio we listened to. Serious danger to people
"We are getting lasered"

I once met the CIA analyst who disproved the 200+ eyewitnesses that swore a missile hit TWA Flight 800. They misconstrued a burning fuel trail because they didn’t know the plane was distant & already broken up. I’m skeptical of this drone panic because people aren’t good at nighttime identification.
I am hiring for the BD team at Intuitive Machines! If you have a passion for spaceflight and experience with technical sales, please apply! #BlueSpace #AdLunam

I’ve really gotten into Sleep Token recently. I’d heard Granite on XM Octane. Apple Music recommended them because of my Spiritbox, Bad Omens, and Gojira playlists. With lots of time in the car going to and from the hospital this week, I listened to Take Me Back to Eden in its entirety. Blown away.
I was gonna get up. Eventually.
"Though the concern about drones flying over military installations and other sensitive locations is legitimate, nearly all of the videos and imagery TWZ has reviewed are of private and commercial aircraft."

This was my area of focus when I was a student of former HRP Director Bill Paloski and I was on the editorial board for the workshop proceedings where this was debated.

It’s not just a day of adjustment. Neurovestibular readaptation can take much longer. That’s why astronauts aren’t allowed to drive for weeks after they come back. We can’t expect them to deal with a critical emergency essentially alone in such conditions.
