Gareth & Marta's fundraiser for Sands Help Marta Zboralska raise money to support Sands

My wife and I are fundraising for @sandscharity.bsky.social following the stillbirth of our son Henio in January. Needless to say we are devastated but the charity funds much needed research.

Any contributions, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated.

Mandelson was given secret spreadsheet to vet left-wing MPs in Labour power struggle The revelation shows the extent of Mandelson’s direct involvement in the bitter battle to gain control of the party ahead of the 2024 general election

Huge story in @theipaper.com

"[Mandelson] was very involved in all the details; I think he enjoyed it. He was involved in all the personalities and the mechanics including asking the question of who do we want in which seat"

Probably a breach of GDPR laws too ...

Peter Mandelson is telling the truth on one thing: the idea he was bought for a $4k “bursary” or a $75k gift is ridiculous

The real incentive was a post-government payday - one so big he *rejected* a $3–5m-a-year offer

And Epstein enabled that payday

Here’s the evidence. 🧵

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

“Shameful” lack of insight as government doesn’t know how many affected by non-payment of pension The government has shown a “shameful” lack of insight as it revealed it doesn’t know how many people are...

Pension scheme administration is "boring". Until it isn't. 400+ members (from just 4 civil service branches!) registered for a webinar about scheme administration problems tomorrow. I wonder why:

BBC report at a headline level that Grok will now not make sexually exploitative images any more. An actual reporter comes on and explains that it will do no such thing, and will just make the images invisible in the UK. These are two very, very different things.

Who funds the Free Speech Union? Toby Young’s outfit went to court to hide its donors. Today we reveal that funders include US anti-abortion groups, Brexit politicians and Tufton Street insiders.

While purporting to care deeply about the funding of other organisations and the importance of free speech, Lord Young's FSU won't reveal who funds the er ... Free Speech Union

Pay-off spend up by two-thirds as universities shed 13,000 jobs Analysis of UK sector accounts shows number of job losses well above predictions, with experts warning cuts are not over yet

There should be grave national concern about one of Britain’s leading economic sectors and chief export earners shedding tens of thousands of often skilled relatively well paid jobs. Universities are also key to local and regional economies across the country.

Photos of Heba Muraisi, Kamran Ahmed and David Lammy with copy that says: Amnesty UK urges David Lammy to act now to stop the deaths of hunger strikers.

We urge David Lammy to immediately authorise a senior official to meet with the legal representatives of Heba Muraisi & Kamran Ahmed - both on prolonged hunger strike & at extreme risk of death.

Their representatives have repeatedly requested this meeting & it is now critical to prevent a tragedy.

Two people close to the White House told the Washington Post that Machado had alienated Trump by accepting the Nobel prize, instead of giving it to him.
Although Machado dedicated the award to Trump, her acceptance of the prize was the “ultimate sin" in Trump's eyes, one of the people told the Post. "If she had turned it down and said, 'I can't accept it because it's Donald Trump's, she'd be the president of Venezuela today," this person said.

Allison Bailey loses her case against Stonewall – again Court of Appeal finds that Stonewall did not cause discrimination against ‘gender critical’ barrister Allison Bailey.

When those who hate trans people win - or pretend to win, cf Sandie Peggie - it's all over the media, even if it's just a tribunal decision. But when they lose, even in the Court of Appeal, it's absolute bloody tumbleweed. So here's our blog about Allison Bailey latest loss. goodlaw.social/3uyd
