An incredibly ignorant plan - why not target relief to those who need it instead of preferentially benefiting folx who drive gas-guzzling trucks? And while most citizens will see insignificant relief, the hit to federal revenue, and therefore programs, will be significant. Do better.

This is a nightmare: the destruction of Florida's orange industry. Tariffs, drought, deep freezes and a bacteria that is destroying the trees. They have lost 95% of production since 2003.
3/4s of growers are out of business. This is the dangerous eco-future staring us.

The independent Boundaries Commission consulted with thousands of Albertans before publishing its report.
Ignoring the report is cheating.
Ignoring the report is gerrymandering.
“It is not an exaggeration to say that the minority report was gerrymandered to benefit the UCP by significantly diluting urban voters.”

And why not send direct relief payments to families most negatively affected? Instead you significantly reduce GoC revenues while preferentially benefiting those who drive gas-guzzling, child-maiming trucks. Those folx don’t vote for you and never will!
Not said enough! 🙏

Amazon, which saved $4B in taxes under Trump's Big Ugly Bill, has cut 30,000 jobs since last October.
Verizon, which saved $2B, plans to cut 15,000 jobs this year.
Meta, which saved $3B, plans to lay off 20% or more of its workforce.
Trickle-down economics is a cruel joke.

Why not direct payments to those most impacted instead? This idiotic decision reduces GoC revenues significantly without need while preferentially benefiting those driving gas-guzzling, child-killing, behemoth vehicles.
"(Here in Canada) oil and gas, which is largely foreign-owned, largely U.S.-owned, aren’t doing their part. (Instead)...increasing our emissions and ...demanding that Canadian taxpayers pay the bill for cleaning up the pollution they cause and building pipelines they won’t risk their own money on.”

The huge pipe organ at the back of the University of Alberta’s Beaux Arts Convocation Hall. We pipes reach up to tjr domed ceiling.
I asked for a tour of Convocation Hall and the organ loft while I was there, in fact. I had a lot of questions about the whole plan.
Thank you!
Lovely piece. Next time you’re there, tell the idiotic @ualberta.bsky.social admin to stop their plan to remove the lovely Memorial Pipe Organ from Convocation Hall.
Am I the only one who thinks that patio fees are perfectly acceptable? You’re using public space for your private business.
My only quibble is they didn’t phase the fees in gradually. Public space shouldn’t be free for profit-making.

Not optimal keeping this system but also not something I want to replace right now.#myoldehouseinyeg
Replaced these in my crawl space where they are a thermostatically controlled heating system using incandescent bulbs 💡. One socket was unreliable at lighting bulbs and both are cooked despite their 660W rating. Replaced with porcelain.
When Danielle Smith claimed 80% of federally picked judges had donated to Liberals, that was way higher than any figure I'd researched.
I dug into it. Could confidently write here:
"It is not true. The single media source Smith got that fact from has since corrected it."

Sports are political.
Following the USA’s hockey wins at the Olympics, the White House revisited an old tweet from Trudeau that asserted our sovereignty.
They shared that post with an image of an eagle attacking a Canada goose.
But they messed up
Because in that story, the goose came out on top.
Watching CBC Olympics coverage the past days i think it’s fair to say that @anastasiabucsis.bsky.social and her speed skating commentary is an absolute delight.
