And people try to blame Lange and Vinai for this mess. Don't get me wrong, they have their share of the blame, but Levy’s grip on the football side of the club over the last few years has led us to this point. birdyspurs.co.uk/how-has-it-c...

Agreed. Bentancur has been poor this season, but showed his class today. Biss was mostly good but summed up his Spurs career - sometimes great, sometimes shit. I think we have better players than relegation rivals. The question is, can De Zerbi maximise their potential quickly enough?
If we play like that for the rest of the season, we have a chance. It will be enough to beat Wolves, and then it's game on. Strangely, I have more belief today than I did this time last week.
Despite the heartbreak of a late equaliser, that was a better performance than most of us expected. If we keep playing like that, we have a chance of getting out of this. Admittedly, it's a small chance, but I 100% thought we'd lose today, so it shows we have the quality to get out of this.
We have to remember it’s De Zerbi’s second game. To get a performance like that shows that whatever he's doing is working. Is it too late? Maybe. But it's something to cling to. It's just so maddening, showing what we all know: we have good players.
De Zerbi’s job this week is to focus on those positives and lift the team. That was probably our best performance of 2026. Admittedly, it's a ridiculously low bar, but that was an in-form team, and we deserved a win.
If we play like that for the rest of the season, we have a chance. I thought we'd lose badly today, so there's a small positive to take. Hopefully, they’ll grow from that performance. Brighton were the form team in the league, and we should have beaten them and genuinely played well.
If we'd held out, I'd have had renewed confidence that we could stay up. It's a hammer blow, and it might be the final nail in the coffin. A much-improved performance deserved a win, but we can't catch a break.
Please don't be injured. If anyone's going to save us, it's Xavi. It's a madness he's been left out for so long.
RKM is offering so little; anything would be better than him right now. Tel is about to come on, so hopefully he's on the right. I think Madders is on the bench as a bit of a morale booster. I can't see any way he's ready to play yet.
The problem is, we don't have a fit one. I wonder whether a Spence/Porro combo on the right might be a better option and also strengthen the defence on that side.
I genuinely think if we'd persisted with Simons, and played to his strengths, we’d be better off than we are now. This team has clearly been missing someone with his creativity. Regardless, this is much better. A deserved lead against the league's in-form side.
Racking my brain to think where we could have found an attack-minded coach with a proven track record of winning everywhere he’s been, and whom the players all loved. 🤷♂️
I think it's a bit of that, too, plus the factors I mentioned in my article. A club like Spurs doesn't go down because of one or two factors. It's a perfect storm of incompetence.
That's why that story is so unbelievable yet, sadly, so believable. Anyone who's watched Spurs recently can see the problem, and until I read the article, I couldn't fathom why it hadn’t been addressed. Signings like Dragusin and Gallagher suddenly make more sense. It's shocking, but explains a lot.
The poor recruitment makes much more sense when viewed through the lens of this article.

I’ve read it three times because I can’t quite believe that Lange is stupid enough to do this, but it explains a lot. He certainly gets off too lightly in my article. He has to go.
My non-Spurs friends keep asking me, “How has this happened to Spurs?” The honest answer is “how long have you got?” so I turned it into an article.

I feel like I’m watching a different fight to the commentators. It’s been awful, but they’re talking like it’s an epic. #furymakhmudov
So many people on here wanted Ange to stay. We were told we needed someone more pragmatic. I’m so fucking mad that we’re now going full circle and appointing someone who plays similar football to Ange, only he’s an absolute dick.
Some performance from Xavi Simons:
- 2 goals
- 77 touches (most of any player)
- 8 progressive passes (most of any player)
- 4 shot creating actions (most of any player)
Too many positives to mention them all, but a big shoutout for Gray. Simons and Tel looked dangerous too. It was just nice to see us playing with intent and confidence. Fair play to the players for going from rock bottom in the first leg to that, which shows impressive character. #COYS
Wishing you all the best for your treatment and recovery. It puts all the travails of our crazy football club into perspective. Looking forward to having you back ASAP.

Maybe, just maybe, Tudor is starting to see the strengths in this squad. The formation/selection was decent today, and giving Olusesi his debut when others haven't might be something... or not. bsky.app/profile/spur...
I think it's just the way I'm sitting.
He was great today. If we're going to stay up, we need his fight. 🐦
Given the recent depths we've plumbed, today's performance was remarkable. If he’s somehow found something to stop the rot, he deserves a couple more games to see if it’s sustainable. Ironically, today felt like something Redknapp would do. 442 and players largely in familiar positions.
I agree.
You can understand why Tudor’s approach may have worked for clubs like Juve, chasing CL spots. A kick up the ass might be what they needed. Our confidence is at an all-time low, and he's making it worse.
Strangely, I think we've played way worse this season: two slips, a Kinksy howler, and a dubious goal against us.
