I can't believe that this is a controversial idea. Definitely more fandom people know about my RL than when I was younger, but I still try to keep them generally separate

Stayed up late for the cottage and now I'm crying in the living room. How am I supposed to go to sleep with all these feelings?

And then drop it in the ocean? ๐Ÿ˜‚

The runner up movie (one actually released that year, Titanic was a holdover) was Saving Private Ryan which... Not sure that's any better.

Truly heinous shit that only emboldens fascists

Some idiot proudly displaying the fact that they censored a library copy of the groundbreaking graphic novel "Gender Queer: A Memoir" by Maia Kobabe in order to shame their recorded queer experience. The graphic novel page begins with the title "Interest in erotic gay fiction has been so prevalent in my friendships, one could mistake it for a prerequisite." In the second panel, a group of friends are sitting together in college watching the TV show Supernatural. One asks, "When did you first ship Sam & Dean?" and the other responds, "When Dean pushed Sam against the bridge in the first episode!" However, this censoring idiot has physically covered "Sam" with masking tape and written "Cas" [even though that makes no sense in the context of that ship's history, FFS, Cas didn't come in until Season 4]. They then proudly explain they "HAD" to censor it because the original sentence contains incest and it's "Nastyyyyy". And I guess they think their opinion gives them the right to tell other queers how to tell their history.

This is embarrassing, juvenile behavior, and it's HARMFUL. IDGAF what you ship - editing someone else's real, lived queer history because their experiences don't match your sense of propriety is appalling on every level. Good job doing the fascists' work for us, and I mean that sincerely. When we tell people they can't talk about their queerness unless they lived it according to our standards, we deny them the right to be real and authentic. It's no different than some asshole editing a queer couple to be straight to suit their sense of appropriateness. Fucking grow up, support queer peoples' authentic lives, and recognize that fantasizing about fiction does not in any way equal reality.

FFS, kids, don't do this shit. Not only are you CENSORING A BOOK, you are censoring someone else's real, recorded queer history. This isn't something to be proud of. It's pathetic. We have to fight hard enough to keep copies of Gender Queer: A Memoir in libraries in the first place.

Love this, but I'm assuming the "between seasons 1 and 2" thing actually means late-s1 or early-s2 because there's not a lot of "between" there ๐Ÿ˜…

I saw the phrase used on TikTok specifically about Dean in Born Under a Bad Sign and it's never been more true

11 months ago 1 0 0 0

By a stereotypical toxic boy mom I mean the moms who say "I love my daughters but I love my son differently", calling their sons "boyfriends", comparing their sons getting significant others to them being broken up with, etc.

11 months ago 1 0 1 0

I generally don't like the "Dean is Sam's parent" headcanons because I think they erase a lot of the nuance of their relationship

HOWEVER

I saw someone call Dean a toxic "boy mom" about Sam and this is the only version I like

I'm so sorry. I hope you're able to appeal and have some other sources of funding. The whole country is gonna have to spend so much time digging out of the hole DOGE is putting us in.
