Lot of South Asian moms only eat cold dosas because they're the last to eat and they have to cook for themselves

There's a more commercial version of Venba with more arcade style cooking mini games but mechanically it didn't fit the grief of the story we wanted to tell.

LRT:
One of the things we decided first is Venba is not just about the joy of cooking because she's put in a role where she HAS to cook.

That's why the first time she cooks, she's not excited about it.

And the only time she's shown eating, is in the last level, when someone else cooks for her.

games that ask you to play as a mother, to parent as a mother, that complicates and interrogates the experience of being a mother. i mean the material reason those games don't exist is because women do not often make it that high up in the hierarchy of game dev compared to men.

In India, We had no idea Pokemon was supposed to be played on consoles as we only played on emulators and couldn't ever get 151.

After moving to Canada, I got all of this in high school in exchange for doing white kids comp-sci assignments and was finally able to complete the collection
