“My grandmother is actively terrified of unfamiliar people in her home." Santa Clara IHSS provider Hannah Leonard cares for her grandparents, including her grandmother with dementia. Like many family providers, Hannah left her job to join IHSS because she was the best person to provide care.
Care work is essential work.
Care workers are essential workers.
Careworkers, who devote their lives to caring for others, should not be forced to go without care themselves.

Amador County IHSS providers like Sarah Coulson recently won a tentative agreement for higher wages. A single mother supporting a household of four, including her disabled daughter Amie, Sarah says that even though the IHSS program has been a blessing for her family, “I’m still just barely afloat.”
Amador care providers have reached a tentative agreement on a strong new IHSS contract that meets the needs of working families! 👏👏👏 If ratified, the new contract will increase wages by $2 over the life of the contract, secure funding for training, and expand eligibility for healthcare benefits.

✅Support AB 1790 (Connolly) to ensure corporations pay the taxes they owe.
✅Support AB 1611 (Haney) to end subsidies for corporate home-buying.
✅Support SB 1349 (Gonzalez) to build stronger accountability for corporate tax giveaways.
When billionaires flood elections with money, working people are the ones who pay through weaker public services, rigged tax policies, and corporations calling the shots.
Democracy should belong to all of us, not just the rich.
