That song is old and played out. Get a new DJ!
Y'all need to stop pretending that these moneyed tech people just recently became like this.
They've been far-right for a while. From the beginning.
Y'all just didn't want to hear it when their harm mostly affected Black people.
If you ask two white guys when Elon made a turn to the hard right, they'll tell you "2020! Or maybe 2022!"🤡
Because that's easier than the self-reflection required to say, "Black people saw it way before that, but I only saw it in 2020 or 2022, and I can't accept that I missed something so big."
In 2023, Governor JB Pritzker was joined by Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, advocates, and lawmakers at the Harold Washington Library to sign legislation outlawing book bans in Illinois.
Illinois made history as the first state to outlaw book bans once and for all.
Marginalizing people, ideas, or facts has no place in our state — and they have no place in a democracy.
This National Library Week, we continue our commitment to free thought and free speech.
Halal meat is the good stuff. Also no significant number of Texans are going to boycott HEB. It's HEB. That's like boycotting... air or water or joy.
She's going to play with her food, and then eat it.
Journalism professors sit around hoping to get sued by a grumpy subject, when they know that they have written an airtight story. And she is very sure that her story is solid.
She's supposed to be afraid and back down immediately! But... she didn't back down? Why didn't she back down? Why doesn't she look scared?🤡
I'm serious about interpersonal racism being secondary to systemic racism.
Interpersonal racism is:
👮🏼♂️"I hate Black people!"
Systemic racism is:
👮🏼♂️"Hey, the boss says to seize money from innocent Black civilians, because no one cares about Black people and we can get away with it. I need this job."
How much money is extracted from Black communities?
During pandemic lockdowns, everyone stopped driving.
So there were fewer Black drivers to pull over and arrest for weed.
So fewer fines and court fees.
Some cities almost went bankrupt!🤡
So Biden gave cops a bridge loan for mass incarceration🤦🏿♂️
Because the goal is not public safety, or even interpersonal anti-Black racism. Interpersonal anti-Black racism is just a side effect.
The goal is revenue extraction from the Black community, through court fees, fines, labor extraction from inmates, and employment for jailers and suppliers.
Marijuana is not a danger. Marijuana is the pretext that cops use to over-police Black people. Take away that pretext, and cops will just... move to another pretext.
The starting position is: "We must stop and arrest X million Black people a month, whether there is that much crime committed or not"
Happy 4/20 to all you potheads!
Lots of people genuinely thought that mass incarceration would disappear overnight with the decriminalization of weed. I told y'all it wouldn't.
People believed it would go away because they thought that Black people smoke more weed.
But... white people smoke more🤷🏿♂️
They're only racist because you didn't welcome them hard enough!
So in a way, it's your fault.
Most people that hate DEI don't even know what it is. They believe the cartoonishly silly version of DEI sold by racists.🤡
If you explain what DEI really is, about half of the white people in the US will still oppose it. Because they like racism and want more of it.🤷🏿♂️
But half is less than 80%.👍🏿
If you go to an area that voted for Trump at 90%, and you reach them with the correct message? Slightly less than half will still vote for Trump. Happens🤷🏿♂️
But slightly more than half will not. Because their support for US racism was based upon a series of lies that are in opposition to their values
They don't need to be welcomed. They need to be "reached." And that message is best delivered by someone that looks like them. I don't advise any young, Black, progressive people to drive to rural 90% Trump voting towns and try to "welcome" some of these people.
Salon has cracked the case! That's been the problem this whole time: that rural white people haven't been "welcomed!🤡"
A few problems with this narrative:
White people in rural areas, have white family members in urban areas. They're already "welcomed" by progressives.
👴🏻"LOL! No! 🤣"
Signed,
The 20 christofascist dudes that control most of the major US media, and that like what Trump says, and that have a higher net worth than the majority of Americans that don't like it. Beg all you want. We don't care."
BREAKING: A powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake strikes off the northern Japanese coast, with a tsunami alert issued.
You can ask Google Play which streaming service has the NBA playoff games.
And you can save $$$ if you subscribe to multiple services, like Spotify for music and Peacock for Playoff games.
(Full disclosure: y'all know the day job)
It was and it is, and it's something she's had to navigate. She's done that much better than Kelly. She's more self-aware.
There's an infantilization of Black men voters, where some Dems believe that they will just vote for whoever Clyburn tells them to.
But it doesn't work that way.
Clyburn can't sell Buttigieg to the Black men voters that refused to vote for Biden ever again, but that did vote for Harris.
It wouldn't.
Clyburn vouched for Biden, that his presidency wouldn't just be a redux of the mass incarceration ramp up that Biden did as a senator.
But Biden did start Biden'ing again.
Biden increased mass incarceration, killings by cop, and police funding, more than Trump did.🤦🏿♂️
It's really hard for white Americans to accept that Black people know much more about US racism than they do.
It's hard to accept that Black people haven't been exaggerating or making it all up this whole time.
We've been prophetically accurate, in many cases calling the exact percentage.
36%.
Harris.
Twice as much as second place (Newsome).
Haberman has book deals about Trump, yet saw less about what was coming than tens of millions of Black people?
And yet many of y'all are convinced that you know more about what is about to happen next, having not been correct about what happened before?
That Black voters are probably "low info?"
And I don't expect white Dems to listen to Black folk or even acknowledge how much Black voters know, no matter how many times we are right.🤷🏿♂️
If white Dems listened to Black folk we wouldn't be in this mess. The fact that we are in this mess, is evidence that this listening has still not happened.
Again, I don't need to get agreement. I say what I say, and I collect my receipts later.
I'm very OK holding the unpopular position for long periods of time.
Like the last time y'all tried to tell me that Buttigieg was "surging!🤡"
No. Only if you can't even see Black people.
I invite anyone that wants to disagree or debate any of my takes, to go back and pick anything I said 2 or 3 years ago and they to argue with that instead.
I say this because they can't. Because I'm right.
A lot of Black people are right.
Because we understand US racism better than you do.
