Admittedly not a standard girlie but at this point, I just have to wonder if there's a single ban that does much.

There are currently 10 cards banned in paper Standard.
Four of them are red.
Two of them are blue.
One is both.
Izzet makes up 70% of the ban list and 100% of these trophies.
As someone who was professionally annoying on the internet about Magic for a few years, I have so much respect for someone who quietly goes about their work of demolishing people, winning boxes, and picking up invites.
I suspect we'll look back and wish we had been on here less.
Wild that one of the best limited grinders of the last decade is basically an anonymous guy with almost no footprint on the internet. BUT... he leaves his 17Lands data public.
137 trophies in Arena Direct. 68% Win Rate.
Not even going to mention his handle. You know who it is.
fine I didn't want to see any of you anyway
Trying to be better about posting here. Anyway, news:
We're issuing an open call for innovative approaches to con coverage for MC Vegas! If you're a writer with an interesting idea for relaying the experience of this event to readers, hit us up! We evaluate on the strength of the concept and quality of the work, no submission is too weird!!
Oh, this gets into a whole 'nother can of worms if so.
#1 in the world? Well, that goes to a card that isn't even legal yet: Erode, a city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Over 500k in the metro area. Thanks, Strixhaven.
Also, UK comes in at #2 in countries with seven total cards. Was expecting more crossover, but five are totally unique.
Was wondering how many cards had the same name as US cities and it turns out there are 31 unique hits. Figured Savannah was #1 by a mile but it's THIRD.
Anyone know what #1 is?
Figure I gotta to something with these Cradles
Premodern mail days will continue until Arena improves
very good mail week continues
premodern mail day:
no one needs to like this I just needed it out of my head
Old man take a look at my life,
I'm a lot like WU BRG
I know everyone got to have a lot of fun calling me a scalper this week but I was legitimately excited to see this when I woke up this morning. Haters will say it's still in the box.
Happy Freebie Friday a thing I just made up where I re-post one of our free articles on Cascade Cascade dot com

I've spent the last decade trying to get a little better at limited each week. If you're someone who is draft-curious but 0-3's more of your free Arena drafts than 3-3's, this is practical advice you can implement that I guarantee will make your game better without spending a dime.

Just food for thought. It's entirely possible someone is holding on to a ton of these because listing would be massively unpopular. There's only one seller with 4 on TCGplayer, but I'm sure they're sweating.
Crunched the available DanDan data (DanData?) from eBay:
One seller sold 4 listings
Four sold 3
19 sold 2.
No one sold 5 or more.
Similar story on TCGplayer.
I don't think there's a big, bad reseller cabal holding the bag on these. Average sale = $232.90 across there and TCGp.
The metadata has inventory numbers and that's in line with previous releases.
Sorry, left off a zero, should have been 600k based on an estimated 6,000 units.
Or 0.035% of annual revenue.

Search is definitely a different metric than what I'd guess they look at internally.
Attention remains the most important currency. When major tournament winners struggle to get 20K views, why not buy discourse for $60,000?
To put it another way, the product is not this Secret Lair, it's the conversation they'll generate with it.
"This was a cash grab."
Magic made $1.7 billion in 2025. That's $4.6m per DAY.
60k in DanDan was a ROUNDING ERROR to Hasbro.
They hope that you talk about this. That it trends on here. And that you keep directing your rage at the resellers that make whole system work for them.
