4.3m to defend Soldier F. Families paid their own travel to Belfast, relied on volunteers for food, & had no psychological support. This was the stark reality highlighted by the @finucanecentre.bsky.social & @humanrightsfirst.org at the Bloody Sunday commemorative events. @dooleydooley.bsky.social
BBC Panorama aired Post Office: Who’s to Blame? on 26 Jan, examining how Horizon system failures destroyed lives through wrongful prosecutions. On the 54th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, 30 January 1972, at the Monument, Rossville Street, Derry, John Kelly remembered his brother Michael (17), who was killed that day, and all those who were killed and injured. The commemoration was also dedicated to the children of Palestine.
Survivors and campaigners came together to confront decades of injustice. From Ballymurphy and Bloody Sunday to Hillsborough, Stardust, Creeslough and the Post Office scandal, shared stories of loss, resilience and determination laid bare the human cost and the ongoing fight for truth and justice.
Extraordinary testimonies at this Bloody Sunday event of struggles for justice in Ireland and Britain. Well done to the Trust and all involved.
