Exactly! I've been saying it elsewhere but I feel like the collections shueisha has released have been in anticipation of this. Fujimoto pretty consistently crafts these worlds with a lot of background to go "but what's going on over there?" When it's just for fleshing out character experiences.

Anybody who thinks it's "bad writing" or "a copout" either hasn't thought about it enough, is emotionally driven by their own wants in a conclusion, or struggles with media literacy.
Obviously this isn't towards people who just have criticisms of the work, the ending, part 2 in particular. I do too.

The more I think about it the more I love the ending to Chainsaw Man. Fujimoto has such a strong grasp on world building and most importantly what *not* to disclose, elevating the characters and how they live in the world over the world itself.

Not to say it's *perfect* but it's something I love.
