The friend at whose place I'm staying in Hachinohe is friends with the people in whose Airbnb I stayed three years ago, so one of them just dropped by to see me again and have a little chat.
Receiving word that the cat who just licked my finger would never do such a thing to a man's finger.
Canned wine is here to reassure me I might be in the right timeline after all.

店員さん: (試着したスカートは)どうでしたか?
E: 超かわいくて、似合うけど、値段がちょっと高いので悩み中です。
店員さん: 悩んでください 😌

It's more that, for instance, she finds herself wondering if someone would maybe like her to refer to them in a different way because of their seeming transness, but going "hey you're trans, right? Do you want me to change something about how I engage with you?" would not be ideal either.
Japanese cishet friend of mine told me that one thing she struggles with after having lived in USA for a while, is that she finds herself able to pick up that people around her in Japan might be trans/gay but she isn't sure how to signal to those people they can open up to her.
Anyone have tips?
