Delighted to see my first paper in Chemical Education out in CERP. This work aimed to identify skill gaps present in first year undergraduate laboratories and identify the factors that contribute to them. #ChemEd
Many thanks to all those involved in the work.

My thanks to Marc Di Tommasi, Ania Byerly and Kirsten Cowan for their help in putting this together, and to the Student Support Team and the students at the University of Edinburgh School of Chemistry involved in the running of our community schemes.

Excited for the annual #RSCPoster event today and particularly the #RSCEdu section. This is a really accessible opportunity for anyone to access leading science.
It is also a fantastic way for our MSc students to get inspiration for their own posters in a few weeks time.
See you all there!
#RSCPoster 2025 - Share your research with the world.
We're almost there! 🙌
Tomorrow, the #RSCPoster competition will start on LinkedIn. If you haven't already, then please register before midnight TODAY (UK time) ➡️ buff.ly/ZKw4l9j
We look forward to seeing all your posters! #ChemSky
It was fantastic to hear about Audrey's work in a recent visit to the School of Chemistry here in Edinburgh. I'd encourage anyone involved in chemistry education to attend.
Special thanks to Audrey Cameron and Asma Sheikh for their enlightening talk on teaching chemistry and STEM with sign language today. Benefits for all!

Good morning Edinburgh!
Made it along to the Edinburgh Christmas market today. Been a few years since we visited, but wow, it isn't quite the same anymore.
For any other #NMR enthusiasts out there, the team at Manchester put together the perfect advent calendar. Thank you!

#MICER25 - Hurrah! #micerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
We're hosting a #ChemEd meeting!
Delighted to share that registration for Chemistry Teaching in Practice (CTiP), a free one-day workshop for chemistry HE practitioners taking place @OxfordChemistry on 9th January 2025, is now open: rsc.org/events/detail/…
Did some tidying up of the links for chemistry related starter packs, arranged loosely by subject area, and added who maintains the list so you know who to speak with if you'd like to be added!

Many thanks to all the organisers and speakers at today's #RSC Science and the Parliament event. Some insightful discussions into the future of STEM education #STEM #ChemEd
All good pointsb thanks. From that I assume you provide model data in advance of any experiments that cover processing in the LOs?
Yes. It can be very complex in Scotland with multiple UK education systems. The emphasis of stringent marking criteria in current secondary exams also makes widening students' evaluation skills challenging.
We have an opening for a new PhD student in my group at
University of Warwick for a Autumn 2025 start. Join us and help make cool mechanically interlocked molecules with healthcare applications ⛓🧪🔬🥼. Please RT and spread to any interested candidates😁.

Hey #ChemEd #ChemSky On the days when teaching lab experiments fail to produce any data - what do you do?
Give the students model data? Get them to complete only part of the write up? Get them back another day? Or design assessments that don't rely on it?
Any thoughts?
A beautiful evening in Edinburgh. Congratulations to all of today's chemistry graduates!
A lot of factors at play, but one thing is for certain, it looks like there's going to be a tough few years ahead.

Yes please! A super useful list thank you.
Thanks Michael. Just joining the Bluesky rush and this was incredibly helpful. Please add if you have a moment to spare!
