AI is hitting the crochet community hard. People are buying patterns on Etsy from REAL crocheters, using AI on their pattern/photos to change things just enough to not get caught, and reselling that pattern at half price using the AI genrated materials.

This is theft and AI is being used to do it.

He hacked into men’s accounts too to see if they had saved photos of women. I only knew him because my brother was in the same grade as him and that was enough to be targeted. He also advertised online he could hack into accounts and did it by request. (4/5)

Which is why it’s critical if you knew him, even indirectly, to check using the FBI instructions to see if he hacked your account.

Why am I speaking out now? Because I hate that this loser has made me feel small and unsafe. I think back to June 2020 and everything is painted a different color. How is he escaping child pornagrphy charges despite being charged with and pleading guilty to making false statements about having and seeking out child pornography? Who knows!?

The hardest part is the fact this is someone I know. I wasn’t friends with him, but I still KNEW him and many of his friends and family. Most of the women he targeted he knew and it’s terrifying how easily men can victimize women they know.

In the end he likely won’t get more than 2 years. (4/7)

This year has been so hard for me and it has taken months to feel even okay enough to make this post despite not being hurt nearly as bad as the women who he did steal photos from or the women who were closer to him. (3/7)

The first week of 2026 I found out I was one of Kyle Svara’s victims. In June of 2020 he hacked into my account in an attempt to find and steal nude/partially nude photos. I was one of the “lucky” people who didn’t have any photos stolen, but he has stolen my sense of safety and my privacy. (2/7)
