Move your piece Behold, your majestic King Cobra! But alas, your opponent has also summoned a fearsome Ogre to the board. It's time to move your piece. These two creatures can only move one space per turn, and need to be next to an enemy to attack them. Normally the wizards can also move around the board, but in this tutorial, we have (magically) broken their ankles. Click or tap your King Cobra on the board, then select a position to move to. You don't really have much of a choice but to advance towards the Ogre...
New in Archaos: the first tutorial of many. Had a lot of fun putting this system together (and especially when writing the hints). Play now at www.archaos.co.uk #gamedev #turnbased #indiedev

A screenshot of a turn-based computer board game. Small brightly coloured pixel art creatures and trees stand on an isometric grid. A large burst of magical light fills most of the centre of the board, as a wizard meets their doom.

Up to 8 players! Computer controlled (and slightly thick) wizards! Probably bugs. Definitely bugs in fact!
Thanks Jesus.
So I've been working on this again recently... github.com/lewster32/ar...
Live demo will be updated in the next few days I expect, with full 8-player support and (admittedly currently a bit rubbish) computer controlled opponents.
That's it! I've quit my job. I'm again fully committed to #Archrebel, resuming my full-time gamedev career.
For all those who have supported the project, even if just with a like or retweet, my heartfelt gratitude; have a fantastic new year! ๐ป

Had some fun putting this together with modern tooling. A more fleshed out, properly instrumented version of a track I did in 2003, itself a cover of !Cube - Beast from Inside (1997) www.youtube.com/watch?v=bS6c...

codepen.io/lewster32/pe... I made some SMPTE colour bars with nothing but CSS. Always enjoy tackling something that seems deceptively simple, and digging into the tiny, nerdy details of why something is why it is. See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMPTE_c...
petition.parliament.uk/petitions/72... the way this is flying up in numbers, you'd think some major porn sites had just started enacting it or something...
All the best to you Tilly. My grandad (who raised me) had some bad turns at the end of his life with COPD and didn't recognise me. It wasn't the best time. Hoping she pulls through <3
I just had to verify my age on here. That was pretty lame. If you're against this shit and you're in the UK, sign here: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/72...
Beachy Head is very nice this time of year
Still using SCSS for the nesting and some automation, but all of the other stuff is based on custom properties, calc, color-mix etc., so getting there!
Improvised melee weapon the right out the door and off the edge of the cliff. Like the gods intended.
Oh! Well, er, I'm glad I made an impression I guess? For what it's worth, I often think about that 8-Bit Icecream night at the Empire in Boro, which is probably the best time I've ever had in a nightclub :D
Thanks! What were you thinking about? Open-world 8-bit games?
