why bother with SLSA when ppl can just introduce bugs via the front door and have them just sit unbothered 💅

Modern DRAM is based on a brilliant design from IBM.
But, we're still paying for a latency penalty that's existed since the 60s!
In this video, I'm introducing my research project (Tailslayer) that immensely reduces p99.99 latency on traditional RAM!

Screens: Samsung Odyssey G6 G60SF
Keyboard: Keychron K2 HE
Mouse: Keychron M6 8K
Lightbar: BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2
Huge cat paw key: Keychron Paw Launcher

Photo of a desk with two 27" displays, with a lightbar on the right one. There is a keyboard, a mouse, and a giant keyboard key with a cat paw on it. Both screens show a wallpaper coloured in nuances of orange, pink, and purple.
Upgraded from 2 mismatched 22" 1080p60 displays (one IPS and one TN) to 2 matching 27" 1440p500 QD-OLED displays, I'd say that looks bloody lovely 💕
It's always been interesting to me the amount of people who pretend to stand for <insert cause here> while they are, in fact, enablers 🤠
These people are the worst type of human beings you can encounter. Silent parasites. Beware of them.
Pleased to announce that an Authenticated Transfer Protocol (ATP) working group has been created at the IETF!
Grateful to everybody who participated in the BoF and chartering process. Details on next steps and how to get involved inside.

We are THRILLED to announce that our Ecma standards will now use UUIDs instead of integers.
ECMA-262 is now ECMA-39c506d7-731f-4220-8ffd-a68970945a65.
Far more scalable. No two specs will ever collide again. Perfect system.
Shortened forms like ECMA-39c506d7 are acceptable in casual conversation.
The premise of ATProto is so good and I love the approach it takes, but having features that we already need take so long... Makes me wonder what it'll be like once more people experiment and find gaps in the protocol for certain use cases. Will requested features ever see the light of day?
Well, I'm pretty sure it'll end up nuked yeah, but the protocol is moving so slowly it's very frustrating to see bsky multiply ad-hoc workarounds instead of assuming their position of de-facto protocol steward :(
The preference endpoints aren't part of ATProto. They're Bluesky specific endpoints shoved into the reference impl of the PDS...
A strictly spec-compliant PDS with no added behaviour would not be able to deal with prefs. IOW, it's a proprietary addon. :/

this is like exactly why moving capability into appviews is so crazy to me (server-held PDS oauth tokens, communication without service proxying, writes that don't go through the PDS first, etcetc) because u trade soooo much user exit power for, like, placating dev skill issues
This echoes well with my biggest frustration over a lot of recent Bluesky features. ATProto being currently governed by Bluesky, I'd expect features to be added to the open protocol, not to the closed black-box Bluesky appview (bookmarks, drafts... why don't we have private PDS records already???)
Je vois de ces dingueries sur le parking du personnel de l'université de Toulouse, à deux doigts de faire un thread alimenté quotidiennement des pépites qu'on peut voir

can we trade a bit of our temps? It's cold asf here 😭
For cats the concept of DST is probably SO WEIRD to them, like
Around some season transitions SOMEHOW absolutely every single human around them including their trusted ones do everything as usual but an hour too late/too early, all at once
ICYMI: JPEG XL support is back in Chromium, gated behind the `enable-jxl-image-format` flag. 🎉
I use Thunderbird profiles to keep a digital hygiene on my devices that I also use to access work emails, but god damn it using profiles in Thunderbird is ass
Why is there no convenient switcher built-in raaaaaaaaaah
Need to finis this project GF - Needs to finish this project - "Oh yeah I haven't finished this" - "Haha woops it's not done yet" - "Right I forgot about this project"

so much time for things to somehow get ✨worse✨ in this fantastic year
Thrilled to be working with @bad-example.com, whom you know from the excellent @microcosm.blue tools, on making the atproto network ever more resilient

today's discovery: compiling systemd (all of it) is faster than compiling any non-trivial Rust crate
Mais du coup, c'est la tarte qui doit être aux fraises ou la recette ? Hm, au final, on dirait que c'est moi qui suis aux fraises... Consternant 😒
The fact that speaking up, or even interacting with people speaking up, results in a block is signaling the exact opposite of openness and positive engagement with the broader open source community.
Advertised as Open Source, but made in a closed circle. Many such cases... :/
