It's better than a real emergency, but this sydney weather has destroyed 2 of my umbrellas in 2 days...

The injuries sustained by Hannah Thomas are just the latest in a long crackdown on the right to protest in Australia, @theshufflediary.bsky.social writes.
My dad recalls my stepmum asking about "the weird smell" in the delivery room during her C section as they were cauterizing her wound.
He kept silent but in his head was like "yeah that is the smell of you cooking..."

Is something out of place here?
Fun fact Aussies currently need a VISA to travel to the UK but not China :)
A lot of truth to this - getting off a crowded metro is akin to a rugby league prop trying to charge over the line and score a try.
Don't get me started on the clowns on the platform who STILL stand right in front of the door.
We need to adopt the Japanese approach to public tranist manners.
If they agree with the government on every bill, what would be the point of being two parties?
Can almost guarantee the $2m won't be a hard stop for the Greens, it will simply be used for some horse trading to get a win elsewhere. Welcome to politics.
lol it hasn't even gone to a vote yet relax
Dorinda Cox ran for MULTIPLE leadership positions only a fortnight ago, and is now abandoning the party AFTER the north west shelf decision.
Absolute grub behaviour.
Labor can enjoy the 20+ staff turnover in her 3 year term already, all based on accusations of bullying and poor treatment.

Labor MP Jerome Laxale has (in a roundabout way) called out his own government for the North West Shelf approval, by blaming it on the fact it was approved under the old laws which need reforming.

As a member of the generation he is referring to, I can confirm none of us are living like this.
Billionaire fantasy land, please touch some grass Mark. Those of us with mortgages or rent to pay have better things to do than speculate on the latest shitcoin.
I love that my phone now transcribes voicemails. It makes dealing with recruiters much more pleasant.
Not only can I ignore your calls, I can now read your 30 second voicemail in 3 seconds.
During a quiet moment on pre-poll, I quizzed the Labor staffers on who they were trying to re-elect in the Senate. None of them knew.
This was in NSW fwiw
Can't imagine why media would focus on a major political party that has been around for 80 years (and governed the country a lot during that time) as it now begins to fracture and consume itself in a very public manner...

It's hilarious because RBA literally released a research paper last year, highlighting that consumer & central banks have differing views on inflation & wage rises and that central banks need to consider this when making policy decisions.

What typically qualifies for grounds for a discretionary recount?
Now every election the question to the leader of the opposition will be “what deal will you do with the National Party to be in minority govt?”
They are absolutely fucked.
I remember you chatting about this one on the Baby Giants Podcast way back when, how good it finally paid off.
Nothing better than when the micro-cap finally gets noticed and goes on a big run
Imagine being one of like 3-4 Liberal MPs who WON'T be a shadow minister...

Albo scalp count:
* Scomo
* Dutton
* Bandt
* and now the Coalition?
Insanity, his ambition of Labor becoming "the natural party of government" is all but confirmed now

Can Liberals even fill a cabinet?

Something good happens: This happened in spite of government
Something bad happens: 100% governments fault
I would say it is a combination for sure
Jeez, Liberals can't catch a break...
This is a good example where you can point to consequences of Greens actions. Yes primary vote has roughly held up. but this is where you can pay the price, especially in tight contests.
Greens national vote held up (or only slightly contracted depending on where you look).
The real concern for the Greens, is why growing the vote seems to be impossible, even in what was dubbed an "election for the young" where Gen Z and Milennials had a majority.

Adam Bandt tossed from Melbourne.
Greens have some tough looks in the mirror & soul searching to do.

I think the right decision was made for ACT Greens to sit on the crossbench and provide C&S only. In my opinion that is as far as the relationship should ever progress, arugably for the benefit of both parties.
We all hate Trump but "having the best lives on the planet" is a fucking hilarious statement
