I think some things need to be pointed out to the fools who think separating from Canada will benefit them. For example, they'll need a passport to go to or through a neighbouring province, lose access to Canadian ports and pipelines, lose Federal health care subsidies, certain pensions, etc.
From what I understand, to get rid of a dangerous, traitorous president, there are the options of impeachment, the 25th Amendment, and as last resorts, the 2nd Amendment or military coup.
Unfortunately all require courage. I don't see those particular characteristics in great enough numbers in USA.
