A little bit of rain won't keep us down, and with clearing skies forecast for this afternoon, this week's installment of our 2026 3D League will proceed as planned. After the scorching weather we experienced early on, slightly cool and damp conditions don't seem bad at all!
See you at the range!

Greetings everyone! It was great to see a great turnout by BMB archers at this year's Vegas Shoot. With that big event now in the books, outdoor season is now well and truly under way. Here are your BMB updates for this month: blackmountainbowmen.net/2026/04/02/b...
Is this your arrow? Here are arrows found by your fellow League shooters and by our teardown volunteers. We'll have them out next to Registration at the next event.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our second 3D League event of the year. We were treated to considerably milder weather than last week, and enough wind to make things interesting.
The updated 3D League results are now available on the 3D League page (blackmountainbowmen.net/3d-league/ )...
We've updated our volunteer form so that you can choose as many dates as you'd like in a single response: forms.gle/YBbbTwbyK2MH...
Thank you to everyone who helped out!
Looks like we're back to spring weather for Round 2 of our 2026 3D League. There's still time to join to get your full set of points for this season!

Hi BMB'ers! We hope everyone has been enjoying the great turn in the weather we've seen recently. With indoor season wrapping up and conditions for outdoor archery getting better each week, here are your BMB updates for this month: blackmountainbowmen.net/2026/03/02/b...

Thanks to everyone who attended this weekend's Club Shoot. We had a modest turnout on a day with lots of other stuff happening, but were lucky to have sports and wildlife photographer Amanda Newlove (IG: @amanda.newlove) visiting, and she managed to capture some amazing photos of archers in action.
You can find links to the files over on the "Resources" page on the BMB website (blackmountainbowmen.net/resources/), or access the files (CAD file, parts list, drawings, plans, etc.) directly on the Google Drive folder (drive.google.com/drive/folder...).

We're pleased to make available plans for the tournament target stands that we use at BMB, free for anyone to use, modify, improve, and share. These stands work with 48"-54" target rounds, and should satisfy World Archery requirements for outdoor archery targets.

Hi everyone! As we roll into the second month of the year, we hope everyone is enjoying the favorable weather we've had as of late, and that you've been able to take advantage of it to get out and shoot some arrows.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank everyone in advance for your cooperation.
The remainder of the range and facilities will remain open to the public. Please exercise caution and consideration in all areas, as there will be significantly increased traffic and activity in the parking lot, practice range, and lower field course.
* The upper parking lot will be closed to those not participating (archers, officials, volunteers) in the tournament.
* The upper 14 will be closed (field targets 16 through 28) and off-limits.
The event will take place on the BMB upper parking lot; to accommodate the event, and for the safety of all participants and BMB visitors, please note the following closures, effective from the start of the day, until tournament activities have finished for the day, each day:
To all BMB users: San José State University will be hosting the annual WINTRR Collegiate Tournament at Black Mountain Bowmen this coming weekend (Saturday, January 31, and Sunday, February 1).
(The following week doesn't look much better, and many folks will be out at the several tournaments happening that weekend.)
We hope to see you out at the next scheduled work party, Saturday, February 7!

In light of the current and forecast weather conditions, we've decided to cancel the upcoming range maintenance work party, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 3, 2026. With all the rain, the ground will be too slippery and muddy for service vehicles and volunteers to operate safely.

To join BMB for 2026, or to renew your membership (online or by mail), go over to the Membership page of the BMB website (blackmountainbowmen.net/membership/) and follow the instructions and links from there.
3/3
Your membership fees are the main way through which we fund the upkeep and improvement of the archery range and facilities, so we're grateful for your support and appreciate everyone who renews their membership earlier in the year so we can ensure a healthy outlook for the year's budget.

We're fortunate to live in a place where we can enjoy outdoor archery year round, even if it is a little chilly or a little damp; here's what's going on at BMB this coming month: blackmountainbowmen.net/2025/12/28/b...
If you've had issues with targets that no longer stop your arrows, consider coming out to our upcoming Work Party to help install these new bales and make shoot-throughs a thing of the past!
4/4
These bales are projected to last as long as two years on lesser-used targets, and many times longer than our previous bales on even the busiest targets. Once installed, these will significantly reduce the amount of work needed to maintain the range.
3/4
Thanks to Chris and Will for their help unloading them, and to Tam and Mark for securing them against the blast of winter weather that blew through this past week.
2/4
Your membership dollars at work: we recently took delivery of a whole truckload of high-density archery target bales from Little Sioux (formerly Pacific Bow).

Moving on from their prior BMB Board member roles are Ashley Duong, Lilith Mariano, and Dawnel Scott. We thank them for all their past service and contributions and hope to see them around at the range and at upcoming events.
3/3
Our two new Board members are Gregg Uyeda and Steve Yang, two friendly faces and BMB regulars known to many of you; we thank them in advance for joining the leadership team.
