Yes I see those @musicalchairs.bsky.social graphs. Billions siphoned off.

I have 5 "screens' of apps on my phone (24 on each time 5) Sometimes I only use an app once. Eventually I will delete but I don't want any more apps. It is an imposition and a security risk.
This
Changing course is a no brainer.
"Since the 1970s, the price of solar panels has fallen 99.9%, while the cost of wind has fallen 91% since 1984. Battery prices have fallen 99% since 1991."
Once again they don't understand that more bikes on the road mean less cars in their way.
LOL. I have a car but I also have 3 bikes. Bikes are more fun but there are shouters everywhere.
Wild. Pretty sure my old Ioniq has gone up in price too but not selling it. There are so few of them around.
At that price better to just go for the EV6 second hand which is my plan.
All over the South Island & expecially in Otago there are signs of mining from long ago. Land ruined by short sighted politicians & chancers. We don't have to buy the mining story now. They never do the cleanup or remediation promised and royalties never cover the true costs.
Old tip follow the $. It is going offshore. The true costs will remain unpaid like almost all mining. They assume they can just trash the environment.
"move more than 200 million tonnes of rock" is huge.
We already know what value wine & tourism brings. Miners not being honest about their impact
I saw an Ioniq 5 N for sale at $139k. Yes it was new but that is an incredible price. The Kia Ev3 's are all at $75k too so not likely.
Maybe in the present environment that could change. I have found out there is a Kia Ev3. Have never seen one though & don't really like it but maybe that is an option if Kia do have some to sell?
Ok. I emailed them but they didn't tell me that at all. They keep trying to push hybrids & petrol neither of interest to me.
I love the EV6 but it is out of budget range at the moment.
Uh-oh. Do we need a new version of @magnets.eurosky.social’s brilliant observation about how climate change will manifest?
In a surreal twist, people are now doubting footage that is both very real and very close to home—a result of AI imagery poisoning the waters:

Why not? Hyundai don't seem to have any EV's available at the moment but assuming that because they are sold out. Turkey is a long way away & NZ is a tiny market but I like it.
From his wikipedia. Seems like any bus will get him there.
"Utikere unsuccessfully contested the Labour nomination for the Palmerston North electorate following the retirement of Steve Maharey in 2008, losing to Iain Lees-Galloway."
So many NZ companies are privately owned and just not listed so the stock market doesn't show any of that.
At best shares area. proxy but easily manipulated & now with automated trading systems around for a decade or longer it is even less representative.
One of the reasons why I won't buy a Tesla. I have driven the S model and they are great cars but that door handle problem is very real. Some others but that is enough.
Hyundai has a new EV coming. I have an (100kW) Ioniq & I find the Ioniq 5 a bit bulky for my liking so this version 3 looks very interesting if it gets released here?

A double jeopardy kind of thing. They elect National because sleepwalking politicians means they don't need to think about the real issues. That doesn't work any more ( not that it ever did) but perception has changed. Modern politics more volatile under MMP.
Woke up this morning with a cadence in my brain. After a bit I remember it is this song from Wilco. Remarkable song
I am an American aquarium drinker
I assassin down the avenue
I'm hidin' out in the big city blinkin'
What was I thinkin' when I let go of you?

National shackle us with NZF, give NZF way more power & profile than they should & suddenly now their jobs depend on it NZF are not a party who should be in coalition. Still NOTHING from National about or for people affected by latest weather & economic crisis
