Me too! Am I missing something, or is he …?

Democrat @raskin.house.gov excoriates Nigel Farage for banning journalists from Reform UK events:
"I'm asking you a direct question. Why do you ban journalists who oppose your views from coming to your events? Why did you tell local government not to do interviews with your local newspaper?"
Nice to see his obituary in a National publication. Meselson-Stahl is so elegant and something my undergrad professor generously demanded that we dwell over in advanced molecular genetics. Peace to his family and colleagues.

Thank you Marie for speak for us. You were awesome.
On a crash course in coercive control; currently finishing @dremmakatz.bsky.social book, so I can start @davidchallen.bsky.social Unthinkable. Wish I’d known sooner, but nobody could’ve helped Mum - trapped by it for 50 years. Meanwhile sympathy to everyone dealing with its spectre on Father’s Day
I'm really glad to see an oncologist on the list of signees, along with endocrine specialists. Even if it wasn't transphobic, the 'who counts as a woman' discourse can hit differently for cancer patients and other cisgender folk who've had bits removed or hormones blocked.

If I hide under here, I can’t be seen
Flu virus is reported to remain viable on hard surfaces for 24-48 hours and shorter on porous surfaces. So unless your eggs are incredibly fresh, this shouldn’t be a problem
Silence will not shield scientists from the consequences of an increasingly hostile political landscape.
UK and other non-US scientists must act to support our US colleagues.
Here's what I think we should be doing...

We knew there was a list of banned words and now thats having real effects - the mPOX study cannot be published with the names of CDC authors.

Reposting this, so I can find it and read it later.
We feared censorship was likely, but did we expect it so quickly? How can we do public health science in this atmosphere ? open.substack.com/pub/insideme...
Sending much sympathy to US research colleagues. I recall how we felt when we in the U.K. lost access to EU funds, but this is much worse. apple.news/AkEfPX9XPQiW...

Longitudinal study confirms that childhood mistreatment increases risk of rheumatic diseases. Many of us with lived experience knew this implicitly, but it still feels good to see the evidence.

Im a Humanist, not remotely religious, but after a difficult 2 days Bishop Mariann calmly speaking truth to power, gave me some hope. I’m feel relieved & happy to stand with her. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
🔴Joining the EU Single Market Could Be the Gamechanger for Keir Starmer’s Government
Both the UK economy and the new Labour Government needs an urgent shot in the arm. Could this be the solution?

Your photo of Ely Cathedral is truly magical. I can’t stop looking at it
As a survivor myself, I am appalled to see some politicians weaponise child abuse.
I am appalled to see the issue played like a political football.
I am appalled that none of recs of the Child Abuse Inquiry have been implemented.
Survivors need 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 without delay.
Well that didn't take long ....

I agree education is a big part of the solution, but we don’t know how to break the trauma-bonds that hold women hostage. My own Mum would never have left- admittedly she wasn’t killed - she died of a broken heart after decades of abuse - as do many, many more.
I agree Danes are excellent at English. I look Danish, so they assume I am, while, embarrassed, I have to hope my Yorkshire accent lets them know my Danish forefathers came over on longships
I’m relieved this issue is finally being taken seriously, but so much work to do …
Goodnight Jimmy Carter. You were a model of what an ideal president should look like, & a selfless, giving, & compassionate person. You were also among the 1st people to mind whenever I thought of what it ought to mean to be a non-proselytizing Christian. I truly hope more of us match your kindness.
It’s a lovely place simply to walk around. Lots of lovely cafes - including at the Merchant Adventurers Hall - and pubs with live music. I enjoyed watching the stonemasons working at the Minster.
