It's the best of both worlds. You get your villain monologue/plan leaking, and your player is encouraged to gather as much info as they can without interrupting, as they can't really interact with anything in soul/spy form.

Bonus points if you make which player sees what's happening random

In the Percy Jackson series, demi-gods receive visions where essentially their soul will be wicked away in their sleep allowing them to peek in on their enemies/goals. This comes with the risk that if they aren't careful, they can be attacked in soul/spy form, and it fucks up their sleep.

It kinda sucks to have meta knowledge your PC is not allowed to act on. It affects your choices and can be really frustrating when the "big reveal" happens that you understand but your character has to stand around like an idiot.
