I think it's too early to assume they won't, but obviously there should be a massive fan and media revolt if the #Nats don't spend money this offseason

I'm not worried and I think they'll spend as they always have (when it's made sense to do so), but if they don't...gonna be a lotttt of empty seats

People are often surprised when I tell them this: both Twitter and Facebook/insta/threads are now specifically engineered to downgrade, hide, suppress real journalism. If this platform is different, that's a huge change

Alright, time to give this a try. For those who don't know me, my name's Chris and I'm proud to represent the great state of Maryland in the U.S. Senate.

We're big fans of blue skies (and blue crabs) in Maryland, so this seems like the place to be!

A lot of people are taking the viewpoint that we’re gonna go from 0 to 100 on January 22. That is simply not going to be the case. 2/3 of all federal judges were not appointed by Donald Trump. The federal government is not all-powerful. Protests, lawsuits, and elections will still be a check.

Jay: I think social media should be basically common infrastructure that society gets to use and evolve it as society evolves, building a more democratic form of social media to reflect a democratic society.

If you've been thinking that Bluesky SEEMS BIGGER than Threads, that's because now it IS BIGGER (at least in the US)

(And this graph understates the reality because so much of Threads is just Instagram-style engagement bait.)

How Tulsi Gabbard Became a Favorite of Russia’s State Media President-elect Donald J. Trump’s pick to be the director of national intelligence has raised alarms among national security officials.

"Her selection to be the director of national intelligence has raised alarms among national security officials, not only because of her lack of experience in intelligence but also because she has embraced a worldview that mirrors disinformation straight out of the Kremlin’s playbook."

It's notable to me that after years of fear-mongering about trans women playing sports, Republican leaders are now so emboldened that they won't even acknowledge that trans people exist. Almost like it was never really about sports.

Republicans want to cut Medicaid and food stamps to fund tax cuts for billionaires and we should probably make sure everyone knows that

Scoop: Trump personally pressuring senators to confirm Matt Gaetz President-elect Trump and his allies are mounting a major push.

He might not get confirmed, but people need to realize how much Trump wants this. It’s not 3D chess or a distraction — he wants the world’s biggest and creepiest rubber stamp at his DOJ (and to show he can bend Republicans to his will)

Pls don't mistake any of the above for a lawyerbrained "he can't do that!" or "courts will save us in the end!" response to Trump legal nonsense. I'm only saying that as of today this is a wild stunt intended to get us "debating" birthright citizenship. There is no debate here. Don't take the bait
