Great point! Villa won’t know their baseline budget for next year until the end of the season (e.g., CL versus no Europe scenarios), so these loan deals allow us to get better now while providing us with maximum flexibility entering the summer transfer window.

I have been impressed with the U.S.-based Dortmund knowledge/fandom across multiple pods leading up to the Malen transfer. I am a big fan of Canadian Pete Schad, and I think there is room for a U.S.-based Villa pod too.
