Philip is being very kind to me in this morning file, and I'm so glad that they enjoyed my book! ^.^ Support your local independent news, and subscribe to the Examiner!

My parents didn't know wtf they were signing up for when they put a copy of Redwall from the library in my hands at 8 years old and told me I was grounded if I didn't finish it before it was due

"Birds see fast enough that TV is a just slideshow of still images but slow enough they can see which direction the stars are moving" is really doing a number on me

"It can't be that bad" I told myself. "I'm the same age and plan to retire at the same time, and I'm in the best position of my entire life so far!"

Folks. It was that bad.

used a little online calculator to find out how much I actually need to save every month to retire at 75 (lol) as someone who started saving for a pension at 34 and I should: not have done that on such a nice and sunny Saturday afternoon

Writing is such an amazing process. I just wrote a line that had me sobbing at my desk, and it felt so so so good. Cathartic. A part of me healed in writing it.

Now imagine if I used AI. Where is the work? The personal journey? The reflection?

Also as a result of unionizing my workplace, I can now use one of my most favourite memes to describe myself

I was blessed to be interviewed by Suzanne of @halifaxexaminer.ca fame! While the province seems adamant to let libraries wither on the vine, I've been working to make sure we can at the very least keep operating as the great institutions we are.
By unionizing!!! ^.^

AND YET
I've still very much enjoyed writing and editing! Even though it's hard!!!
AND I STILL DONT USE AI! JUST BECAUSE ITS HARD IS NOT AN EXCUSE!

In all seriousness though. I didn't do well in English in highschool (I blame the autism, what do you mean there's words to describe words, that doesn't make sense to me!) Ive *really* struggled through creative writing classes recently, and not gotten barely anything from them.

Jokes on you AI, I don't even know what an em dash is! My grammar is terrible! My editors cry every time they see me in their inbox! I apologize profusely! Wtf is an adjective!

I like bluesky because it feels so much like tumblr

1. barely works
2. userbase is annoying (affectionate)(not that affectionate)
3. being queer on here feels like I’m actively participating in ruining some tech company’s investment

Me: Gee, it's a good thing I've been sleeping well lately, today was a lot! I can't wait to wake up and be refreshed for a better day!
My body, not having let me sleep until 5AM: I bet she'll think this is hilarious

The gym next door to the library I work at is blasting spice girls and I've spent the last five minutes dancing through the stacks

Just had a new version of a captcha that I failed four times? Am I losing my millennial-trans-girl-is-good-at-computers cred? I could swear that I answered correctly, and I think I'm being gaslit by the fricken thing because it's powered by AI

The lovely @sbeep.bsky.social made mine! They did some *work* accomplishing an absolute amazing job! I still get comments on it to this day. I can't wait to show you all what they've done for Revenge's sequel!!! ^.^

It's *so* good. Went into it not expecting much, but instead got such a heart wrenching story!

It's one of those games I think about all the time! That was some of the best imaginative stories and worlds I've seen in gaming ever, and it was just allowed to die slowly because everything had to be a MMO back then

- I honestly think Total Warhammer II is better than III
- Special shout outs to Mass Effect, all the MMOs I have a toxic relationship with, Crusader Kings, Sunless Skies/Seas, and V Rising. Yall also put some special moments in my heart.
- Play Inscryption. Do it now. You won't regret it.

- Beat Saber is a good cardio workout
- The Secret World was ahead of it's time
- Dragon Age II and Cyberpunk fought it out for best story, but Cyberpunk made me cry more. Shout out to Cabernet for also making me cry at the end (I think I have a thing for cursed protagonists)

- Obviously, Brutal Legend had a big effect on me. I got into it right after a period of being basically homeless, and it got me through a really rough patch. I have a tattoo of Corrupted Ophelia on my arm and it's a big part of who I am and inspired a lot of my writing. Thanks @doublefine.com!

We about to have some *hot takes* with this one

notes:
- Super biased, of course
- Ya'll need to play @pintroverts.bsky.social like seriously
- A lot of these are based on moments that I treasure. Laughing with friends over drinks playing Civ 5, playing NfSII with my dad, etc
