Image of Bill Hicks action figure on simulated stage superimposed over stellar photography of Arcturus, framed by Bill's quotation: "You know all the money we spend on nuclear weapons and defense every year? Trillions of dollars? Correct? Trillions! Instead, if we spent that money feeding and clothing the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, not one, we could, as one race, explore outer space together in peace forever."

In Memory of my son Bill Hicks My son was 32 years, 2 months and 10 days old when he died Feb. 26, 1994 from pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed June 19, 1993. Because he was young and, ironically, in excellent health, I prayed he would be one who beat the odds of dying from this incidious disease and live. Bill was a standup comedian and traveled constantly all over the US, England. In his downtime he played the guitar and composed music and wrote lyrics. Bill was a wonderful young man - not perfect, of course, but basically his instincts and actions toward others were spot on. Over the years stories of his kindness, respect and help to and for others has come back to me. This was not a surprise but an affirmation of what I already knew about my son. Bill wanted love, peace, food and clothing for all people - idealistic but, maybe, one day the world will concentrate more on these ideals than on conflicts. Bill made me a proud mother. Bill Hicks' parting words, read at his funeral: I LEFT IN LOVE, IN LAUGHTER, AND IN TRUTH, AND WHEREVER TRUTH, LOVE AND LAUGHTER ABIDE, I AM THERE IN SPIRIT

I have a more nuanced opinion about all of it from when I was 15, but at the end of the day..it’s not a good place to be for anyone
Thanks? FYI, Bill's birthday is Dec. 16. Today's his deathday. ⚰️
