just kind of rocks. if I had to make some sort of distinct claim it would be like high contrast area (industrial framing but also plants, fully inside but huge windows), and maybe some smidge of monkey brain prospect refuge / I can climb this but that's just me yapping

I’m actually trying to finish develop this pipeline and then release it out as a standalone tool!

video to COLMAP style camera solver/ “sparse” metric distance point clouds, training as 3DGS, midway through the process with the gaussian ring view, just framed the 3d view to look nice!

gaussian rings viewtype in Lichtfeld! I’ve just never had such a clean/ dense point cloud with variable distance like that but I’m going to have to start chasing them because I love the look

Are we considering that somewhere around 8-25% of the mass of concrete (and possibly same for general aggregates) has biological origins from limestone? double digit percent of man made mass is the reorganization of ancient sea creature corpses

I’m not familiar with that one but I’ll have to look into it! They have a couple of songs that sound almost Bluegrass/ American Folk-y, which i’ve been joking implies that living in a former industrial city now left behind by the service economy leads to the same musical vibe regardless of geo

was recently put on to Omnipotent Youth Society. I don’t know how actually huge they are but the wikipedia implies they’ve gotten awards/ won some sales records for independent rock

that’s been my thought since the first read. No attempt to free the kid even if it would send everything into ruin? In that world I wouldn’t have done anything at all but I can respect the “this thing is absolutely wrong so i need to stop it” more than “i feel bad so am going to make my life worse”

just using person as “an identifiable system with specific goals and capabilities”, corporations or nations fall under that category, and small tight knit groups do, but group sizes in the middle sort of just decompose. 4 people in a discussion acts as a unique unit, while 20 people decomposes

basically your exact example, like “we’ve got a super capable ultra smart model but it still will tell you the recipe for meth or explosives if you ask”. Capable but not PR/Legal ready. But i’m guessing it’s much more complicated than what I’m implying

One person is a person. A group of 4-5 friends is a person. 15 people is a group of ≈4 people. A nation-state is a person. There’s a weird valley in the middle where personhood dies but then comes back.

i’m most likely wrong, but is it a matter of the most powerful performance they’ve successfully wrangled to product level? Like there’s no way of telling what internal maximum capabilities look like, it’s just a matter of “wait competitor released model, rush to wrangle one that’s a bit better”

the tourist trap raunchy phrase shirt is the same in every city on earth. the guy who buys it as his one souvenir is a complete enigma to me. like what’s the internal monologue there. its one thing for something to be in poor taste, and another for it to not even be interesting
