They had to slow down the clock so the kid could win the steal second base challenge. Metaphor for the 2026 Orioles? To be determined.

What's the deal with the Orioles not posting on Bluesky?
As far as signing MLB free agents, there was Tyler O'Neill just last year.
(not trying to play gotcha here, real question) What makes him Rule 5 eligible? Have only ever understood the criteria to be based on age when signing as a pro. The deadline to protect was three days ago in any case.
They averaged him fewer than 4 IP/G for the season so it seems like they know that starting isn't his future. But then they just weirdly drag their feet about actually converting guys to relievers.
Watching the 2025 Orioles season play out and then developing a plan that requires people to commit even MORE money and time to hang onto their season tickets for next year is (as is oft remarked to Cotton) a bold strategy.
Mike Elias deserves to have someone screaming "Where's Wallace, String?" at him, except about Dylan Beavers instead.
On the Pipeline listed as NR, I think Pipeline had probably already yoinked Watts-Brown over to the Orioles by the time you looked. He was #10 there when I checked earlier and is now #8 in the O's system.
The helmet's wings are absolutely in the logo. They're on the G.
Retroactively about 20 times funnier that this player's team lost the same game to the Orioles by four runs bsky.app/profile/afko...
Do you like the idea of the Orioles drafting a college hitter with one of the worst batting averages of any first round pick in 40+ years? In the latest round of mock drafts, that's who two outlets have the O's taking:
Yesterday on the Orioles farm, things were good for Dylan Beavers fans and not really good for anybody else, with pitching mostly matching the big club in giving up a ton of runs. Running down the Wednesday action:
The last week in the Orioles minors saw good things from a prospect everyone knows (Samuel Basallo), from ones you might soon know (Luis Almeyda, Nate George), and from a few you probably don't know at all. Rundown of the latest from the farm:
Amazingly, the Orioles actually have someone leading his position in All-Star voting. It only took that crazy Devers trade for Ryan O'Hearn to lead AL DHs in the first batch of results. How about that? Things also look good for Jackson Holliday early on:
A hurricane destroyed the Trop's roof, one result of which is the Orioles are now going to play the Rays in a Yankees minor league stadium. The next four games could get weird. Previewing the matchups: www.camdenchat.com/2025/6/16/24...
The Orioles needed their offense to do good things this year and until lately it wasn't coming through. Our @tyleryoung.bsky.social writes about how important it is for Mike Elias that things come together and stay together for this group of bats:
Yesterday in the Orioles minors was another bad outing for Chayce McDermott, but one level down, 22-year-old Cuban Eccel Correa had a nice AA debut. Recapping the Sunday O's farm action:
Yesterday in the Orioles minors brought another excellent Blake Money outing at Aberdeen. Not too late to get on that train. Recapping the Wednesday action, also with some Bradfield fun for Chesapeake:
Jordan Westburg is back after a two-week rehab, Cedric Mullins is back after no rehab, Heston Kjerstad is off to the minors again, and Emmanuel Rivera is off to the great DFA in the sky. Got all that? Rounding up today's Orioles roster moves:
The Tigers are in town for a three-game set starting tonight. The Orioles will have their work cut out for them with two pretty good pitchers going against them, including the reigning AL Cy (and a lefty!) Tarik Skubal. Previewing the matchups:
Several Orioles righty bats who've been injured are making their way back soon. They weren't much good against LHP before getting hurt. Any chance they can improve things now?
Dylan Beavers fans got a lot to be excited about over the last week of the Orioles farm. With so many rehabbing big leaguers at Norfolk, there was a lot going on. More from the O's minors:
It's a steep hill for the Orioles to climb to get back to contention. Our @tyleryoung.bsky.social writes that it's going to take a lot more from the offense to get them there:
Was yesterday a day ending in y? It was, and so Samuel Basallo hit another dinger. He is on fire and it's fun. More from the Orioles farm on Sunday, also including a Tides combined no-no:
Another Oriole makes his way off the IL as Ramón Laureano returns to the team. Also, Scott Blewett is back in the organization, because why not, I guess? Running down Friday's series of moves:
The Athletics have been getting their butts kicked since May 14. The Orioles have mostly stopped getting their butts kicked since May 24. Can the O's keep this trend going over the weekend? Previewing the matchups for this series:
The Orioles are trying their best to make everyone forget their bad April and May with how they're playing over the last two weeks or so. Our Andrea SK looks at what's improved compared to when everything seemed hopeless:
Injured Orioles are steadily working their way back, as seen yesterday in Triple-A when all of Laureano, Sánchez, and Westburg homered. More from the farm from Thursday:
