Friend of mine got publicly harassed on a panel by a comics writer everyone knew was a creeper—to the extent that older female editors would carefully make sure no young women sat next to him in meetings.
When she wrote about her experience, even without naming the guy, she got death threats

oh i mean folks were complaining about that too but in the day leading up to and during this mission i saw a L O T of dudes talking about the firmament
I’ve seen a lot of people struggle to grasp this even though it’s pretty obvious why. I’ve seen people say the young woman in question should just quit, which makes it obviously why this act is oppressive. It leaves her with no good options.
A powerful man sexually pursuing a young woman who works for him is oppressive. It immediately limits and reshapes her future to her detriment, whether she is physically forced into it or not. It’s coercion either way, and that is why it’s so wrong. It’s an abuse of power.
Always cool to see the little parts of comic making that don't get much recognition but are important (speech bubbles designers? How cool!!) and of course I always love to see an @airy.bsky.social name drop!!!✨
You can have an affair and be an excellent politician. You can be a ladies' man and be great for America. But you cannot abuse your position to get laid at best or assault women at worst and be trusted. That's corruption.
Any man who can be placed on a scale from Cuomo to Trump should not be in office.
Eric Swalwell is a rapist. California deserves better than this filthy predator of a man.
If you still support Swalwell after this, then you might as well support Trump.
Both of these men come from the same rotten core of patriarchy & rape culture, just like Andrew Cuomo.
