So cool seeing Kane take his little project to this level. It’s wild seeing this internet horror phenomenon grow into something so public and widely recognized. I really hope he gets to fully bring his dreadly liminal nightmare to life. I’m so hyped for it.

The second response retains psychophysical essence-mediation but invokes a distinction between deep and superficial essence to argue that, contrary to introspective apparences, phenomenal properties do not have purely phenomenal essences.
We argue that g-physicalists can offer two responses. The first denies that the psychophysical grounding relation is essence-mediated and instead appeals to psychophysical grounding laws. We show that, despite its apparent proximity to dualism, this view is more defensible than critics assume.
We take issue with a recent argument against grounding physicalism according to which the widely held view that grounding relations are essence-mediated is incompatible with the claim that the essence of phenomenal properties is revealed to us in introspection as being purely phenomenal.

Raven, M. (2004). What physicalism could be
Advances a grounding-based formulation of physicalism that exploits a distinction between circumstantial and acricumstantial facts, and examines how this approach might address the problem of whether grounding facts are physical or non-physical
Honestly, I wondered about this, but since it’s a review for which I already asked an extension and I’m now quite free, I’ve already drafted a response based on the content. Besides, some claims made were interesting. But I will obviously let the editors know of my suspicion
The presence of nonexistent references in a paper I’m reviewing makes me suspect that AI may have been used
