Critics of new bill say Ohio women would be banned from sports bras, bikinis in public 'The peak of fear mongering.'

Media needs to stop with "critics say" and just quote the actual language of the bill.

HB 249 creates a new category of "seminudity" which can be used to arrest women who aren't nude, but are wearing clothing — leggings, t-shirts without bras — that religious groups feel is too provocative.

*Strom!

(I met him once when I was 4th grader in Spartanburg. My teacher said, after he left, ‘it’s an honor to meet the senator before he dies.’ He lived and served in office for like 2.5 more terms I think.)

more than anything this conversation feels like it's happening on Facebook in the 2010s and that's just not where we live anymore

students have been kidnapped for writing op-eds, people have been shot in the street, a war's been started

They not only won’t cancel; they’ve handed the entire event over to the fascists.

Stephen Miller and Pete Hegseth are sitting at CBS’ table.

FCC’s Brendan Carr has actually been invited, while he’s trying to take away press freedoms.

Mark Your Player, Exploit the Space: Constructing, Deconstructing, and Reconstructing Canadian Multiculturalism through a Historicization of Soccer and the Men’s National Team (1970s–2000s) | Journal of Canadian Studies The storying of the Canadian men’s national soccer team has established immigration, multiculturalism, and transnationalism as a linchpin of the team’s climb from relative obscurity. This was transparent in the framing of the team leading up to and during the team’s historic appearance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, following a 36 year-long campaign to return to the tournament. The contemporary phenomenon of celebrating ‘outsiders,’ particularly Black men, through the national team prompts the question: What has been soccer’s role in the narrative arc of Canadian multiculturalism? A widely mediated rhetoric that transmits curated information (propaganda about a nation here, for instance) raises questions as to whom it benefits. Canadian soccer notably channels a paradoxical process wherein the Other’s hypervisibility is framed as integral to Canadianness. Celebrated Black players on the national soccer squad emerge as ‘aliens’—in an ‘alien sport.’ This mechanism underscores the centrality of Whiteness at the turn of the twenty-first century that delineates multiculturalism through race. Using the team’s qualification for the 2022 Qatar World Cup as fulcrum, the aim is to explore the history of multicultural soccer’s significance in national identity (de/re)construction leading up to that moment. To unpack this, I present a historical investigation of soccer’s intersection with race, ethnicity, multiculturalism, and nationalism in Canada. This is done through an overview of the rhetoric around soccer multiculturalism from the late 1970s to the early 2000s through the Toronto Globe and Mail.

My lil paper on 'soccer multiculturalism' in Canada.

Sorry to be overly sincere for a second, but here's why we decided to persevere through all of the bullshit and take over InfoWars.

There's just gotta be a line somewhere.

Thank you @pablo.show for letting me talk so openly about this.

Globe showing the Atlantic Ocean with arrows depicting the AMOC circulation: warm surface currents (pink/red) flowing northward from the tropics toward the Arctic, and cold deep return currents (blue/purple) flowing southward. The background shows sea surface temperature trends, with a prominent blue cold patch, the "cold blob", south of Greenland, contrasting with warming (orange/red) across the rest of the ocean.

1/ There's a system of ocean currents in the Atlantic that shapes Europe's #climate, drives monsoons, and keeps sea levels stable along the US coast.

In the last 5 years, the scientific evidence that it could collapse has shifted dramatically.

Most people have no idea. 🧵

Hey @nytimes.com, I already reported this earlier this week.

And the G650s you mention? I reported on those in FEBRUARY.

You credit NBC News and WSJ for first reporting parts of your story. Please credit me, too.
