The Frog people are back from their winter slumber jealousy guarding, or at least worrying about, their eggs. Please go away, they say. Or be still. You are in the Holy of Holies. #animism #NewAni #Lillomarka

"At some point soon, the default intuition will flip, and people may ask the opposite question: Why would you burn something when that is so inefficient? That shift has already begun."

A cut through log shows bright orange colour.

I went looking for runes.
In the meaning of the word in eddic poetry: Riddles and hidden secrets.
This is what I found.
One of winters windfalls has been cut to free the path, revealing an image of the sun.
Or is it Surt, the fire giant that will burn the world at #Ragnarok?

"For centuries, we’ve looked for ways in which humans are different from other animals. But this is entirely wrong-headed. What makes us human is not our differences, but our ecological belonging. As a human being, you are a member of a wider community of species and ecosystems. You belong here".

The New Animism: Exploring A Relational Worldview with Graham Harvey - Embodied Pathways It has been a great personal pleasure to welcome Graham Harvey to Embodied Pathways. I first met Graham in 1994, when I was one of the organisers of a Magical Conference in London—a fundraising event ...

"we've had a long standing problem with the imposition of a particular Protestant, Christian, European definition of religion as an individual personal belief in God. Okay, that's a relationship, but it emphasizes proper believing." #animism #NewAni

Blåveis, Hepatica nobilis, is a much lovede spring flower in 🇳🇴
Some sort of plant trickery make many believe it is illegal to pick the flowers.
It is not. Never has been.
The myth protects it and set it aside as something sacred for modern people.

The most advanced technology on Earth isn't in Silicon Valley.
It's in the mycelium beneath your feet.
It's in the leaf converting sunlight into sugar.
It's in the marsh filtering toxins.
Our next industrial revolution won't come from mining more, but from mimicking more.

The whole winter we've walked on gravel roads but now starts off-pist season. The contrast is spectacular. No people, only nature spirits.

Politikk uten ideologi?

Fin tid fremover.

We see a tranquil ocean in different shades of blue against a dark blue horizon, with dramatic clouds.
A large flock of Somateria mollissima, common eider, is foraging. It is the start of the breeding season.

Meditation on Aegir and Rán:

"The Father Ocean is a metaphor for the origin of space, heaven and the solid matter source of the Universe, his “wife”, whose name means Robbery, is the suction power within this source, that which receives life back into itself."

I'm back praying in my favourite cathedral: Ytre Hvaler national park 🇳🇴.
I know every stone and every "svaberg" in this place, but seeing it through puppy's eyes, it all becomes, again, new and marvellous.

Viking var et yrke og det var vikinger av alle "raser".
Om det er noe å skryte av er en annen sak, men det høres jo bedre ut enn kremmerblod.

CUT THE LIGHTS!

I don't often shout here but I am so upset by the proliferation of lighting: neighbours thinking it's OK to light up their gardens as if it's non-stop Christmas, my local woodland getting paths lit up, when darkness was magic for the owls, the bats, and for us to see some stars... 😢

The Yateveo plant is native to Africa & South America, so named for producing a hissing noise similar to the Spanish phrase ya te veo ('I already see you') & having poisonous spines that resemble 'many huge serpents in angry discussion'.

Don't worry, it's not real. I hope.
